I think it would be fine as a pavise transformation thing, not a whole separate unit or whatever you are trying to say.
On another note shouldnt there also be a transformation to equip bayonets, until they became standard and didnt have to be plugged in? There should be a tech that does that

I had the same idea, squirrel. But it would be more work (sprites) and complicated for the idea.
It has already been decided. No transformation for standard infantry...
They will be melee attackers with shoot ability
