Why did that changed? It is now harder to kill a light cavalry than it is before.
It leaves light cavalry with 2hp when struck by spearmen.
Spearmen can no longer one shot a light cavalry ANSWERED
Re: Spearmen can no longer one shot a light cavalry
Well its in the sense that a light cavalry unit can dodge and run away after getting attacked in the real world I guess

Re: Spearmen can no longer one shot a light cavalry
Well it is the same for all knight cavalry irl but in game before the update they were dead on hit. This makes it harder to kill light cavalry
Re: Spearmen can no longer one shot a light cavalry
Flavour-wise: Almost all anti-mounted units presented in the game depend on firm stand with pole-weapon on the ground, so really anti-charge tactics. The lighter the cavalry - less dependand on charge tactics (maybe with exception of fortress-like super heavy cavalry).
Balance-wise: light cavalry was too easlily destroyed.
Once enemy researched reach it was the end of light cavalry use. One meager spearman was impassable barrier even to whole army made of light cavalry.
It still is, but requires some more investment (either in blacksmith or upgrades).
