The entire thing, it says someone using a unit, so that must be in an update
but I know there's no update, I wish to give you a screenshot but the picture is always too big, and if I tried to make it smaller maybe come out blurry.

See if it lets you get a crash report and send it to the dev. His email is zerotouchsystems gmail com if it doesn't open automatically

yes such problems occur often in multiplayer games for --+5 people. I think that those who got the dev version should not use new units in the game until an official version appears in the GP.

sure, that is a very strict LAW, every DEV version user must follow that rule.Constantin wrote:yes such problems occur often in multiplayer games for --+5 people. I think that those who got the dev version should not use new units in the game until an official version appears in the GP.
however an AI can ruin things by producing a new unit (if AI runs on DEV version)

Re: Tournament of Dragons
When Daniel sends the dev version, I seem to remember a warning to avoid crashing everyone else's games. We agree to watch the update log and recognize what is and isn't in stock vs dev versions. I always ask before using new stuff, unless I know beforehand that my opponent already uses the dev version. At least half the forumers are, which is probably where this recent bout of carelessness set in.Stratego (dev) wrote:sure, that is a very strict LAW, every DEV version user must follow that rule.Constantin wrote:yes such problems occur often in multiplayer games for --+5 people. I must point out: the ai runs on the player who moves directly before it, not the game creator. I know I made that mistake and crashed someone once, but since it was 1 vs 1 vs AI, I just refused to skip them, so the game waited until the update came out.

I'm Sure I Will Lose Against DoomCarrot's Orc Army.
He Got 3 TCs while I have only 2, I Need To Cross To The River To Get More One TC.
Orc Surely Won Against Humans.
The Map is 20x20. Orcs can rush easily. I Will Defense My Base Hardly.

You mean this map? Doom do you think a restart would be fair? We already discussed that it looked a little unfair from the start.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
Lol.
MightyGuy, did you even read the massive hint I posted a while back on this topic? This map was about as balanced as balanced can get imo. I truly mean no offense by this, but in blunt honesty, you got handed a fair set of cards, but played them really badly lol.
As of now, you probably have lost. There is almost no way you could win now, as you have delayed a bit too long to cross that river, and I have killed your only combat unit. Unfortunately, it is only like, turn 3-4 or something.
Here's the thing: I don't want to be a jerk and claim victory, because this was barely a game lol. More like a couple moves. However, I am also sort of torn, because the position you are in right now is almost entirely caused by your moves, and not the map itself. Which... Makes me ask: is someone allowed to ask for a restart because they have made a series of bad moves?
I'll explain what I mean:

Your first move: You moved into your second town center, and began building a barracks with your worker.
Your second move: Worker builds barracks again... You started moving your archer towards ME (presumably in an effort to take the long way to your third town center)?
Your third move: You moved your archer towards me again, and I promptly killed it. Your worker continued to build barracks.
What you should have done:
What your first move should have been: Move into second town center with archer, and immediately begin to build a bridge with your worker. Begin building light cavalry in your second town center (the northern one).
What your second move should have been: Finish the bridge with your worker, and move your worker into your third town center. Begin setting up defenses in case I attempted a rush.
What your third/fourth moves should have been: Build factories, set up an archer or two to discourage me from rushing with my only axe thrower. Send light cavalry to your 4th town center when it is finished.
THEORETICALLY, you would have had all 4 of your tcs by turn 5 had you followed this gameplan. That is sooner than I would have been able to get all four of mine lol. Yes, I would have had two worker turns to build a factory while you built a bridge, but that is hardly a significant advantage, and actually would have helped balance out the fact that you got to take your first turn before me. Therefore, I believe I have demonstrated that this was a very balanced map, and one on which you most certainly could have won had you played with a different strategy.
Like I said, I don't want to be a jerk about this lol, seeing as this was a really quick game. Yet at the same time, I feel this game was fair and square, so to speak.
However, I leave this to Samurai's judgement. As the tourney master, if he determines this deserves a rematch, I will gladly battle you again.
If not, well, I think that is a fair decision as well.

Examining the circumstances, I will say that Doom gave a pretty good hint earlier, and the fact that mightyguy had first move, my statement is that it was definitely winnable, if difficult. This is a double elimination tournament, so a first round loss isn't the end of the road. If it were single elimination, I'd advise a rematch, but I'm going to say it's good.
I'd advise not giving up yet though. You still have a chance. 3 to 2 is a definite advantage, but there's still a chance if you play carefully.
In the future, can everyone examine maps on turn 1, and bring forward complaints before further moves are made, so that it's just a matter of redrawing the map instead of negating a whole game's worth of effort.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
I think that would be a good rule Sunrise, to only allow protesting in the first few turns so that people don't take 25 turns and then decide a rematch is needed lol.
Also, you are right. MightyGuy/SacredNut could still possibly win, as he could still reach his two tcs before me. However, it would be a bit of an uphill battle for him, and now I have a large early game adavantage.
If he could survive the next 5-10 turns, he could turn this game around. However, it will be difficult for him to survive the next 5-10 turns, as he has almost nothing to stop me if I try to rush him.

My Tactic And Strategies Are. Making Workers And Healers Rushing To The Enemy Base with Defensive And Offensive Units And Companions.
I'm Conquering on the each sides and corners of the map until there is no escape from the opponent. I'm Love Building Towers On Each Sides To Defense my territory. After Many Turns The Opponent Has No Escape And Space. Because I've Conquered It.

Not really, as long as you are able to repair them and use poison archers hurt them. You could hold him long enough to make more powerful units, but that could be just me.

Of course, fighting an AI is much differen tthan fighting a human opponent, as they are far less predictable, and can generally analyze strategies better and plan effective ways to counter them.

I firmly disagree with the predictable part. Their stupidity is key to unpredictability!DoomCarrot wrote:Of course, fighting an AI is much differen tthan fighting a human opponent, as they are far less predictable, and can generally analyze strategies better and plan effective ways to counter them.
Sometimes I expect them to make the effective move when I present an opening in my ranks.
But then I am taken aback by their face palm deserving plan of actions.
Which leaves me feeling like complete tool when they make the move that finishes the important characters I left open to them for "just one turn man."

I can take on 3 ai vs me easily enough with any race, in AoS or AoF. Human players, not so easy.DoomCarrot wrote:Of course, fighting an AI is much differen tthan fighting a human opponent, as they are far less predictable, and can generally analyze strategies better and plan effective ways to counter them.
I almost never bother a 1 on 1 vs AI unless I'm looking to march right over it or easily test something out. The ai follows a simple, easy to learn algorithm. It never retreats to stay out of range or build up. It never builds outside of directly adjacent to tcs. You can even manipulate what it will make just by your own production. Archers and cavalry will generate skirmishers, spearmen, and light cavalry on the ai, with some few extras it calculates to be for your workers and buildings. Wounding ai units almost always prompts either keeping them still, or retreating them to heal. Either way it buys you time.
This list goes on for many more pages if you want me to continue. I'd say prowess against the ai is pretty meaningless, until such a time as the ai gets an upgrade.
Puss, I don't know how you call the ai unpredictable. It just moves units in order, then attacks, then checks for further moves, lather rinse repeat. It just doesn't necessarily make smart moves. Watch the order of what it moves. Often it seems based on position.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
That's what I hate about the AI.
From past posts it seems that Daniel was trying to make the AI more competent. But it fails to even attack the key units. It needs to be more advanced imo.
I wouldn't mind a little self learning AI.
I can do the same thing too with 3 AI units and it annoys me. Even 5 are beatable. Its been proven by Doomcarrot!
I was mostly refering to campaign maps really
