Re: Tournament of Dragons
You should write a topic on this, we may able to make them much more intelligent. Or at least somewhat knowledge about what they doing.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
How about the attacking part, it should play like a chess AI, a good one at least.

It's harder to write a set of rules for attacking than building, I'm sad to say.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
As someone whoattempted to program a simple turn based game a few years ago, I can assure you that AI is INCREDIBLY complicated, even very very simple AI.
To be honest, the current AI is pretty impressive. I don't think most people realize how many complex algorithms they already follow.
Replicating human intelligence is not ever going to happen in this game. There will never be anything quite like fighting a human opponent.
Sure, you can program the AI to build castles and fortresses, and build up armies instead of randomly charging, but even that would follow algorithms that would be memorized and predictable after a few games.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
It would still make them more competent.
At the very least they won't be sending builders after my army. Unless it found a way to mess up somehow.
I also noticed AI cannot see assassins in watch tower range, from map creating.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
I'm sure it would be pretty quickly memorized, but at least making a few changes to the building algorithm would dramatically boost the production and defensive capabilities of the ai. I wouldn't know how to suggest anything beyond that, but it would invariably be a superior option if the ai builds castles more often, expanded bases, and devotes excess workers to catapult building instead of a suicidal worker charge.DoomCarrot wrote:As someone whoattempted to program a simple turn based game a few years ago, I can assure you that AI is INCREDIBLY complicated, even very very simple AI.

Re: Tournament of Dragons
I think everyone is in their scheduled match already. How goes the match vs Stratego?
Also, Doom, mightyguy, how's that game coming? I'm interested to see if that early game advantage held or if the humans proved to be a harder nut to crack than originally thought.

About the color name.... Some other Forumers said that their eyes hurts when seeing a fluorescent yellow color....
How about just changing the color into orange or gold brown

Re: Tournament of Dragons
Send him a pm. Still wait at least one more day before doing anything more, though since the weekend is coming I'd suggest waiting it out. He may come on over the weekend. I'd like the tournament to be won by skill, not who has the most time to play. Nobody else has finished their game yet, so we aren't exactly in a hurry or waiting for you or anything.
