well all the units concepts - images - stats - stories - names
are messed up and if you try search the posts the only thing you get is confucion
so i will get the situation in my hands....

....pray to your God this will be difficult

First issue:
1) Rune casters viewtopic.php?f=118&t=3531
and
2) Rune smiths viewtopic.php?f=118&t=3530

they are the same but with different abilities and stats !!!!

because the rune caster casts runes we might make him a simple runesmith mounted on an anvil of doom so he can cast those runes (make sense)

we will leave the rune smith as he is.

also there is a unit called
3) war smith viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2934&start=210
description: Unit that works both as fighter and worker

well he might have no similarities with the 1) and 2) but i doubt it....

Both 1) and 2) are "the main ranged unit"

2) and 3) are the same unit ?

Help needed so we can decide what will be done with this three.....

i have to hear from others too...

but i agree the crosbows are more cheap and easily built compare to muskets and rifles
so i think it would be wise to name the crosbowman "the main ranged unit".

No,I think that there were supposed to be basic from beginning,ralfiemen was proposed as basic,but all agreed he shouldn't be that common.

But work needs to be done....
I want to hear proposals about the name, the story, the images, the stats and the abilities (feel free to choose from the already existing ones).

Umm, no they arent the same. MIthril guard has abilities while defender could have more muscles

They look the same but they have different lore and stats.

mithril guard looks like upgrade of regular dwarven warrior, i suggest to make it so.
dwarven defender looks like an unit of its own, an elite like the uruks for orcs / dragons for humans.

I personally don't like the idea of mithril dwarves being an upgrade of regular ones. Mithril is a high vauled, rare ore. Only the chosen can wear it, not just any soldier that comes around. In Middle-Earth lore only elite dwarven guard could have wore that armor.

Because Dwarves already will have a plenty amount of blacksmith-type upgrades and they don't need much upgrades for units themself into more powerful variants.

Heroic victory for the mithril guard independence !!!!

Ok now we have to decide about his abilities.
The options are:
1)We will add (some of) them at the tech tree?
2)Remove them [color=#BF0000]BURN THEM[/color] !!!
3)Leave the unit as it is from the original post.

Definately mithril guard RIGHT NOW doesn't need any abilities at all.
He already has great stats for 5 turn unit (higher actually than elven sentinel in base!) And he can get strenghten buff, trample and double strike which transfowms him into real killing machine.
Later we will see. Personally i don't see any reasons for addition to mithril guards any abilities.

Still i would like to see an expensive tech for the adittion of blasting charges to give the unit more character

well then, change the sprite of mithril guard then because it REALLY looks like an upgrade of regular warrior. but other than that it would be understandable to make it a separate unit
