Stats:

Byzantine lancer: same as lancer but with a 30% bomus v/infantry

Byzantine mounted archer: same as mounted archer but with +1 armor

Mounted lakinton: same as heavy lancer but 50% bonus v/infantry

Byzantine swordman: same as broadswordman

Byzantine archer guard: same as longbowman but with pierce armor and 10% bonus v/cab

Varangian guard: same as man at arms but with armor 1 pierce armor and 20% bonus v/infantry

Dismounted lankinton: same as man at arms armor: 2 ,plus 8 hp, 10% bonus v/infantry, plus 30% resistance to arrows.

Byzantine empire spearman: same as my "shielded spearman idea"

Byzantine empire archer: same as archer, plus 5 hp.

Uhm... both lancers already have 50% bonus to infantries.

A cataphract. Byzantine heavily armoured cavalry. Can withstand a lot of arrows and melee attacks. Armed with a lance. Bonus against infanty and cavalry.

no-No-NO!
No resistance to arrows and such because this is too op.
If unit has some protection against arrows that means that he has high p.armor.
I think it must have similar to shield knight stats but lower attack (7) and a bit lower armor (3/3) and as said higher bonus to cavalry and infantry. For beginning basic lancer bonuses. ofc same as shield knight's speed (4).

ok so same stats as lancer ad heavy lancer?

EDIT: Remember all this units are only for campaigns not for online just as the crusaders and saracens

The cataphract will be similar with the imperial knight from AOF. High cost, high attack, tanky.

Edit first post and put all stats and latest images in that post, if u press the place inline button under each attachment, u will get a link to that attachment in the post, u can then copy this link under each stats suggestion which this image references, it will b more organized this way

I remade Ur Byzantine spearman according to stratego's suggestion and realized how much 2dish ur img actually was, good news is that stratego will implement it like this. As an example, sort Ur first post like this

Description: Byzantine spearman is a...
Cost 3
HP 20
Armor 1/1
Atk 6
Speed 3
Sight 4
Builder barracks
Bonus 300% cav
600% elephant

I would rather leave the dev out of the headache of balancing stats, u give the stats and I (along with other forumers) will suggest the balanced stats. It is a much betr hp unit than pikeman along with higher armor and blacksmith bonus, so it doesn't need any bonus against infantry, also as the map creator u can give just about any stat using triggers. u r like a god of ur little world ;) but if u give too much op stats other players will feel bored.

the dev will implement any map editor unit as long as it maintains some standards on image and stats

so pierce armor without bonus sounds still pretty nice and also 5hp

u should try to write the exact stats after comparing them with the in-game stats of other units, in the first post like the example I gave

he will accept anybody creative enough to write his story with his own maps and battles. the only things he wont accept r offensive stories which promote hatred towards any real world group of people, and maps with buggy triggers

ur shielded and Byzantine spearman might soon b uploaded as map editor units in google play version, but dev does not announce new map editor units, so u should check urself after u update to a new version

alright, thank you!!, by the way the byzantine empire was a great enemy f the knights templar, is it a problem if I make a campaign out of that conflict?

It actually depends on how many people gets triggered by the story to want to vote Ur story out of the game, but truth b told, most people don't even care, and only play for the fun, if someone sent a complaint to the dev then he might have to take Ur story down. So keeping that in mind try to keep Ur story as less offensive as posbl without using any swear or dirty words


Like I played the crusader campaign and it talked of raiding and pillaging Muslim villages like it was nothing, obviously a Muslim player would feel offended if he was told to destroy a Muslim village, even if this is a virtual game.

So my personal opinion is dont make a map where defeating the ai is easy, and the ai represents weak and powerless groups of people that directly refer to any real world group. Conquests can b real murky waters
