Re: Knighthood of Aurora Argentum
Ok there are 2 things I'd like to know... This is are church units but they are simply infantry melee units am I right?
Shouldn't church units show divine power?
Also (but I assume they aren't completed) they need a lot of shading
The shields should still use the existing dragon crests for background reasons (templars and hospitaller also use them)
We discussed with @Sunrise Samurai and @General Brave about the empire background and they are all united under a religion of ancient divine dragons
We might say that their bonus against dragons are because they are trained to fight evil dragons (the scalefolk ones) but they are simply melee units, Right?

Yes, they are church specified units.Alexander82 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 11, 2018 5:00 pm Ok there are 2 things I'd like to know... This is are church units but they are simply infantry melee units am I right?

How would they show divine power without throwing them off balance? Is healing not enough?
Yes they have bonuses vs dragons and undead as well as standard bonuses.
I didn't know what the dragons on the shields were for... Could you please fix that?
All are Melee units except Argent Crossbowman, unless you count Sverdestave's Range of 2 being that it is a long weapon. They were to have kingsmail hauberks instead of traditional imperial plate, more mobility while offering just as good protection, except vs arrows. (Arrows are the only things that can Peirce chainmail, especially of that quality.
Bonuses: aside from normal bonuses of units of that type.
Vs Undead 100%
Vs Dragons 250%

Re: Knighthood of Aurora Argentum
I think that those units are redundant with existing one and other that are going to be put in.
I'd probably go more for divine caster units (clerics, paladins and so on).
Also remove mountainwalking since I don't think is fit for church units

Re: Knighthood of Aurora Argentum
Argent units come with mountianwalking, they are StormSaint's retinue!
Crossbowman provides Archer better than reg but not as good as Imperial
Sverdestave is like AOS volgier, but good vs big units, AND with 2 attacks at range 2!, Look out cav & dragons!
Swordsman is just here for flavor, sorry. Bsides, only dragon image I can do, is Skyrim Empire...
Sacred Tracker was my first, and is my best!
They come from Cathedrals and monasteries high in the mountains. How else can they learn how to mountainwalk? They trianed on their home front.
As for caster... I can come up with something! Especially if it is divine.

Re: Knighthood of Aurora Argentum
The fact that a monastery is in the mountains doesn't automatically teach how to climb since to build a monastery there there was probably some kind of road...
Anyway I think that at the moment these units aren't well themed
I might accept human mountainwalking from special units that are trained in that (I don't know in your countries but in mine there is a special force that fought on the mountains and was trained to fight in that environment and equipped accordingly).

Re: Knighthood of Aurora Argentum
Mountianeers, you mean?
My people were a reclusive religious order that trianed in the mountains. They hunted monsters out of their caves and away from their lands to such an extent that they needed to go to other lands to cleanse them of the evils that resided there.
I understand your viewpoint.
In Isthimus, the lands are very cold and unforgiving, thus a majority of my order had to adapt to survive, scaling mountains to protect pilgrims was one of many services that they rendered. We came to this land to aid the empire!
*Sigh* What do you Suggest, Alexander82? It is your call.
I would like these units to be able to "fit" with the Templars and Hospitallers. At least the Swordstaffman.
Holy armies have cav and shock, but not enough anti cav... or archers.

I think that some spellcasting should be ok. For example instead of having a simple bonus against dragons they might have a spell that gives them temporarily such a bonus (maybe bigger)
Some healing and/or exorcism and such things

Noted that even with spell Resistance, creatures are still affected by AOE spells.

@Alexander82
Edited Stats on Guardian, I already did shading, if I do too much, it will become too dark.
@General Brave what do you think of this. I need an extra set of expertise.
Perhaps we could move this along...

I can't draw cavalry. But I had ideas on Argent cav.
Dragons: Storm Dragons for StormSaint, but does that go with?
Air units... Maybe... Well angels, Valkyries, but those are in different topics.
*Gasps* SILVER-WINGED Falcon!
IDK... Your thoughts?

Silver-Winged Falcons, are not normal birds.
This will provide a supporting "paratrooping" effect. Fly in, heal, fly out. Gives them a utility use in late-game.
Dwarves have best paratrooping ability.
