Re: English units
I really like it, but his right hand looks weird...
About his backpack, i think light infantry should wear it, instead of line infantry
An advice, light infantry used longbarrel muskets without bayonet.
Also, i have been looking for, and redcoat were emntioned at 17 century wven before it. Ur redcoat is based on the napoleonic wars style, thats too late. Is not bad but we need an earlier version too

Here a 17th century version
And the fix for the 18th century version
LOL, the height looks weird

The head of the first oe looks strange...
The 17th century version is perfect
Also the long barrel is only for light infantry. These ones are line infantry, with bayonet
Check the history appart:

1.Do I draw a line and light version?
2. If I put Bayonet on the 17th century version, the gun will be blocked. Is that okay?
3. Is the long barrel really for the light infantry? After all they are used for skirmishing thus they will have lighter guns.
Re: English units
1. Yes, both versions coexisted and fought together at napoleonic wars
2. I will ask if u can use 128x64 aprites, since u can choose some options about that at json
3.light infantry were range specialist units. Skirmish was a tactic at war used very often during napoleonic invasion at the iberic peninsula. Then, they were in a same group but different tactics/equipment units the same genre but different species. In addition, light infantry were very well trained units, and skirmishers were almost anybody doing that tactic (skirmishing)
But, skirmishing tactic exists since ancient world unitl nowadays, and napoleonic light infantry existed during that specific period.

1. Okay, I'll do that.
2. I don't understand. I believe that's not what I'm asking. Sry I really can't understand what that has got to do with my question.
3. But based on the link you have given. They are supposed to have lesser firepower? Lighter arms than what is used by the line infantry.

Re: English units
Light infatry= skirmishers, lower numbers, and shorter muskets in general.
Line infantry= high numbers, tight formations, longer and heavier muskets in general

From my short research, this is basically what I got.Gral.Sturnn wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 4:20 am Light infatry= skirmishers, lower numbers, and shorter muskets in general.

My problem now is that they even have a completely different uniform.
Re: English units
About bayonet for the 17th century redcoat, u can do it 128x64 then u cana add it
About the uniforms for light infantry and skirmishers, do them as the images u have found. They had a dark color as camouflage

Re: English units
I think your misunderstanding my question? Or is it me?
My question is if I add the bayonet already in the 17th century version. I would have to block the gun with the knife for that is what I can see in the images I've searched.
I have no problem with the length in it itself.
And also about the long barrel. Pls read the statements above and also grul's
Re: English units
I fix some in the images.
Well I made it anyway. I think this I not as as a free unit but a gem buyed one.
Heres a green jacket

Re: English units
here i also suggest to make smaller infantry units, or even squads on favor of better looking beside huge mechanical units.
(maybe these images by downsizing will also look good)

Re: English units
i suggest making one or two image at first and decide the final aligment and unit sizes. (to avoid reworking them again later)
(my examples were 50% and 65% images but you can chose any other size - i think the size should be checked beside the big/mechanical units in game so u will see how they look together.)
L4cus can make screenshots with the new resised sample units as he is modding the game already.
so i suggest NOT to make all images to smaller at once,
- make only 1-2 sample resized ones
- and check how they look in game beside big unit images (mecahaical/elephants/ships) - L4cus Please share the in-game screenshots.
- based on these decide final humanoid pixel size (eg. height of soldiers in pixels)
->> and make all other images after this is decided.
my 5cents
ps: sorry for realizing the big infantly problem this late - but i hope early enough so more units will come then you have already.

Re: English units
I think the only way for me to do this is to recreate them all....
Resizing them is just plain doesn't work for me, I can't edit them to make them look alright.
I'll try I guess.
I don't have PC, LOL. I'm poor.

Re: English units
Here it is
A 3 man version
32 px
I still can resize though. I can only remake
LOL, this one is easier to create since I don't have to follow that much of the original references.

Re: English units
The pants look weird. But is ok for now, i mean, for a start is ok. We dont need such perfect images for a first version
Re: English units
Re: English units
If thats so, then its ok...
Re: English units
I have just tested it. There is one thing needs to be fixed. When i put it on a tile eg. a ground (grass) tile the hut has some parts with that color...
I will take a screenshot. Wait for it...
