Ta-daa both resized to 64x128, i can work on making the shading more detailed later but for now we have two prototype images
Squirrel5555 do you know their stats
How can i propose stats/bonuses with nothing to base them off of? We need a few basic units with stats we agree upon before we give more units stats
I have some, but idk if they are ok

idk, im not too happy with the image and will probably work on it more, but it is the 16th century musketeer, so one of the first gunpowder units the player will have access to. It uses a form of heavy musket, and doenst have access to flintlock or bayonet tech, as it is too early for that. This means it must be mixed in with pikes and swordsmen to protect it

Dont forget the arquebus

How about the musketman is the upgrade from arquebusier? Arquebusiers were used until the 16th century when they were mostly replaced with the muskets so it would make sense. The two didnt look much different though so i dont know how to change the image to make an arquebusier, which would be the level 1 unit in this case

They coexisted for a long time
Maybe different units but, then it could be replaced by someother unit woth similar stats and role
Musketeer will be replaced by line imfantry
And Arquebuseir by heavy infantry

All reference images i have found for arquebusier show same or similar equipment to musketman, so i struggled to make an image for them.
I made a few different versions, some with chainmail armour, maybe they can be armour upgrades for the arquebusier, starting with no chainmail?
If its too similar to the musketman, someone else please make the arquebusier image

I struggle too much with it.

The arquebus was shorter with a smaller caliber and lower range. The arquebuisier were armored woth courass
Musketmen needed a furket to shoot, also they were unarmored
Thats y i decided to give musketeer a transformation called "deploy furket"
To balance them, arquebus stats will be
Cost 2
Upkeep 11
Hp 26
Attack 7
Range 2-4
Armor 1/1
Speed 2
Sight 5
Accuary 35

Could u make him unarmored?

This one is unarmoured, just has some gambison or other material coat on, though i have seen images, especially of earlier arquebusiers, that show them with chainmail. The gun is also shorter than the gun of the musketmen and he has a sword, dont know the exact term for the ones they used

Mmh then its good
Should they have a melee transformation? (Both musketman and arquebuiser)

Hmm, i dont think so. You are supposed to protect them so giving them melee mode is too much, lets keep that for more elite/special units some countries might have and for later era bayonets

Mmh, i gave tercio musket melee version and ranged version
Also, there were 2 bayonet version
They both will be techs

Tercio is more elite version, so thats fine.
Good idea with the bayonet techs

For gameplay mechanics, do u agree with my idea?
I mean, it might be imposible to make, or maybe too far from others ao variants
If u do, i could ask for help to some veteran forumers
Also i was thinking about adding another type of attack and another armor
It is the crush damage from artillery
Then, cav could have some crush armor
Also some terrains could give additional protection against those attacks like forest
Units that would have this attack type:
Granedier
Artillery in general
Handcannoneer
Ships
Units that would have high crush armor:
Cav (light cav more than others)
Maybe light inf gets more crush armor than any other inf category
Also, artillery will have naturally high pierce armor, but low crush armor
Just like ships
Its just another crazy idea
Lol

Explosive or overwhelming damage from cannon balls and granades
I know this might be impossible, as i said its just an idea we can discard

If it would be a third kinda of armor then it would need Stratego's coding. However, I've requested a third kind of armor of AoG.

I like them
I'll make them some stats
Maybe its role could be like voulgier, nice against inf and very good against cav
