generic units
Re: generic units
Handcannoneer and upgrades will be effective against ships. Also, drydock are able to fire enemy ships (this idea just got into my mind) with a drydock defences ability.
Coastal defense will be very deadly too.
And inside cities y will be able to recruit citizen cannons (a weak version)

Re: generic units

Re: generic units
I searched about it and gthey were used since early 19th century...maybe making a "experimental development" to enable the production of experimental guns and ammunition

They did exist, but its not something that would fit the game, keep in mind asian kingdoms and dynasties are really not present in the game

Re: generic units
The first old guard will be the grenadier of Napoleon 1 Its ability shoot and throw hand grenades can prove usefull in both ground fights and sieges.

Musketeers
Skirmishers
Marines
Royal longbowmen (england only)
Dragoon
Courassier (saber and firearm)

Re: generic units
Fencers didn't fight on the front line, it is and was a sport. I don't think there were whole units of men armed with just fencing blades, maybe they would have them as sidearms
Demi-lancer shouldn't upgrade to lancer, they were different weapons with different uses
