I could make a new castle in AOD but AOD is still lacking on units anyways so I still don't want to make one. The images are just filling up.

The color is okay for the theme yes though...

The top is too shiny for me while the blocky look of the wall is gone.

I was thinking of redesign, along with other roofed towers.
But it's quite bigger project.

did some experimenting while waiting for a download.
Not sure if anything is an improvement.

I think the castle-naturelight.png is better.

Too dark on shaded sides. Barely discernable features and probably not very fitting along with walls.
Before any opinion it has to be compared to them - I doubt anybody wants to edit that much images.

I guess the Nature-light is a no then. I didn't think about the walls and stuff.

I compared to various positions of the wall and I think I found closest fit, that looks good.
Sunlight walls (except door/window light linings from original) and naturelight tops.

Not sure what really looks the best but I quite like the brownish version so can that stay as a skin?

That was the plan - those more brown versions as a skinpack. And potentially old one if it will be finiahed enough to be replacement.

Just one misconception here though - it's often not best looking image being brought into the game, but most fitting, that wouldn't stand out from other units. Better ones, more real looking are left behind in many cases (sorry Stromsaint, Badnorth).

Atleast skirmisher was worth the effort, it still looks cool ingame

I need to get better i guess. I'm so amateurish when compared to other artists.

When compared to endru or savra — maybe you are right.
But when compared to for example anchar whose skins for imperials will be in a bit later you are fairly decent artist.

I wouldn't like to be compared to Anchar. He's on his own league.

But anchar's recent one are really good. Imo.
