You should compare it to the horse archer (for whom i'm already making an upgrade and that also benefit from blacksmith's upgrades)

then lower speed to 5 and remove spell resistance and make attack to 4 to make it not too powerful

It has weaker attack. Its use is killing two units about to die while horse archer kils a unit with more health

But mongolian horseman would do more damage in single unit too

His range would be less because he has short bow, and short bows dont have much power so total attacks would be a little weaker.

This is too weak. Make it cost 4.

Ness i'm working on an upgrade for the normal horse archer.
If we make the mongolian horse archer too weak there is no sense for it

But if it is too powerful it makes no sense.

Maybe cost 4 but chance to miss like slinger

These bows were very accurate, they were not known to miss

Actually the mongolians bows were very strong because of the wood and other materials they used to make them ex a group of Russians encountered the mongolians going to Jerusalem they were all knights with good armour but almost all of them died even with there plate armour these bows had a long range and also the same power if not more than a longbow.

I'm with zteven, this unit needs to be on the high end side of the attack with speed and power, not moderate? )

Maybe it should be a unit which cost 5 turns and has high speed and attack but low health

Maybe if we low hp - it will be good. It will be powerful unite, but with low hp. And we can give bonus to infantry against the magolian horseman.

Compared to a longbow, the mongolian double recurve bows were beasts.
English longbow : Double recurve bow
Range= 228 meters: 320 to 350 meters (accurate, some say their best have hit targets at 500m  )
Draw weight= 70-80 pounds: 100-160 pounds (average around 166 for most of them)

Get wrecked longbowman
We need to make some stat adjustments
Also the bows could pierce elephant hide at 320 meters.

Soooo, these guys shoot a good distance farther than trebuchets.........only 300m :?

What? These guys are perfectly fine and unique! They are great units that definately are unique and fun to play with, I just tested them out against First_Speaker the other day

No buff please, if they are not working for you, than you honestly just aren't using them right, I don't know how else to say it... :?

Also, yes you can shoot an arrow insane distance with any bow, but try doing that at horseback while firing an arrow every 2 seconds :P

Thats what they did though
I know they are good as they are, but historically speaking these guys were supermen with bows on horses. :D
This is just saying what they really were, I don't think they are just bad in the game.
