The shadow in the british ones is too dark

nice!
- but yet they look flat (cartoonish) will need some shading to form 3D like "body"
- also the leg positions looks unnatural

but very promising!

Yes a few things:

-as Daniel said, they could use some shading and polishing on the image to make it look less flat and cartoony
-all the poses look a little too similar
-There is actually already an American MG image

I believe that those represent grenades of some sort on the American soldiers.

Yes, as long as you are able to do it so that it does not look unnatural.

Your new pose looks pretty good. On the soldat, the shadow is a bit irregular, and you might want to look at both their waists: the seem a bit elongated. That may be because the leading leg is a little thin, but I am not sure. But looking nice so far.
