Now the images need shading, and also the spider needs 2 bodies not 3.

Shading is supposed to look like a shadow being casted to the right of the unit, and the light source is coming from the upper left side of the game.
This gives it a more 3d look.
I think you can handle it, you are progressing very fast!

It looks better. I want to know what image size you are using, most unit images are 32x32.

I am going to create the faction emblem, any suggestions?
Also if anyone can do some research and find some fictional insects out there, please look for some real fantasy insects because right now it seems a little bit more sci-fi.

This is then a good choice of mythologycal insects (This one i found in Japan mythology, still i don't know how it body really look like).

Yeah, "Face of an oni, tiger like body, and spider legs," is very hard to depict.

Because every race that is in game has shield as emblem I think we can use beetle back chitin

Typhoon: i like that you try to gather images but first i suggest checking here the existing free images, there are many insects, try using them or even with modifying them.

I think he is asking how to get the image for a single unit, because that entire sheet is one large image, and it cannot easily be edited

I have a new idea!
Infested TCs
Deals 25% to anything that captures it. Armor 2 units immune. Boost counter attack damage by 20%.
I thought it was weird to spawn insects out of a TC, so I think that this TC should suit much better. The design will have honey combs scattered on the town. If you could add a dripping animation that would be excellent!

i think 3 new races will be added on AOF on the future update. The Dwarves, Scaledfolks And Insects Race. it will make the game more fun. I like your idea

And have a "easy-to-break" shield

2 Giant worm
A giant worm.A giant creature insect for destructing every building(such as hive,nest)
Atk : 20
Hp : 20
Armour : 10
Range : 2
Sight : 2 (so bad)
If you agree with that idea please draw it.Because im is really bad at drawing

Thanks for ideas but I think we will more likely create units that behave like real insects for example Butterflies don't fight so we can use them in game as scouts
