Could we add a rule saying, if one player has twice more points than the other after turn 15, then the game is won?
It will speed up some games

If this rule implemented ,DoomCarrot will lose after few turns(if he don't strike back).

The game is not finished. It is in turn 15.I got 5 towns.DoomCarrot got 3 towns.I think I can capture all within 10 turns if he don't strike back.

Yes, it is not looking good for me at all... He very well may hit the double point limit within the next 4-5 turns if I can't build up proper defenses

My game is also almost over, as the tc repartition was terrible for Detros (5 tcs vs 3 from the very beginning)
But Detros can't play very fast as he is on holidays, so let's see. Maybe 2-3 days?

I am back and currently figuring if there is a way I can hold bit longer or even strike you back a bit. But yes, I admit, it doesn't look too good for me.

DoomCarrot wrote:9. If you have double your opponent's points after turn 15, you are automatically declared the victor.

How is that supposed to work? I mean, when should this check be done?
* once at the beginning of turn 16 of starting player
* once at the end of turn 16 of non-starting player
* at the beginning of turn of starting player (the one who did not create the map) from 16th turn on
* at the beginning of turn of each player from 16th turn on
* any time from 16th turn on, your score is in game settings, score of the other player is at the bottom left corner (same value s at the start of your turn)
* any time from 16th turn on, your score is in game settings, you calculate the current score of the other player (with screenshots showing the change from the start of your turn)
starting player = the one who did NOT create the map ( there are only 2 players)
non-starting player = the other one, the one who did create the map

Forgive me, I should clarify. I think it would make sense if the losing player cannot break the double points on their fifteenth turn or later.
For instance, player 1 has 1000 points on the end of their 15th turn, player 2 has 550 on the end of their fifteenth turn, but had 450 at the start of that turn. They are still ok.
But, lets say at the end of player 1 turn 16, they have 1200 points, and at the end of player 2 turn 16, they have 600. Now they automatically lose.

So "sudden death"
* is active on the 15th turn and later
* is checked at the end of the turn of losing player
* score of the losing player is found in the game settings
* score of the winning player is at the bottom left corner (same value as at the start of turn of the losing player)
?
OR
* is active on the 15th turn and later
* is checked after losing player ends his turn
* scores off both players are at the bottom left corner
?
Second option offers points for kills caused by fire and poison damage to losing player and also for auto attacks of his units. On the other hand it also offers production points to winning player. Depending on the setting all those three values can be a considerable amount. TC ownership can't change during end of turn so TC points are not affected by the chosen option. Losing player can possibly finish some building during the end-turn auto construction of his workers but you get points for starting construction, not for finishing it. Though autofinish a tower or ballista can net you some more points if those immediately autoattack.
The easiest option to check may be:
* after you end your turn
* if it is now turn 16 or later (turn counter advances after creator of map ends his turn)
** YES: access the map again and check the lower left corner
** NO: game continues
* if you are currently losing AND the other player has twice the amount of points or more than you
** YES: you have lost the game
** NO: game continues
Ideally both player should note such situation here. If the other player doesn't react show a screenshot if you want to call this rule in effect.
Sorry for nitpicking but my game with duneix is currently after turn 15 and nearing 1:2 points ratio so I would really like to know how long am I allowed to keep trying to change the flow of battle before this new rule (suggested by duneix

) makes me auto-lose.
Btw, also, if we are going to use bigger maps in later rounds we may consider using some later turn for those. 20th turn for the 2nd round of matches, 25th one for the third one...? Or something like "turn = smallest side of map" so 20 for 20x20?

Well I think my game with Detros is over as he has only one tc left and not many points (less than the half)
To clarify this rule. I would say 2nd option is better. But to be honest, when after turn 15 there is such a point difference between 2 opponents, the game may be considered as over in any ways, even if there are a few points missing to reach the double..

Yes, what you said is correct. At the end of the losing player's turn I mean what are the points after the losing player presses end turn button.
Any sort of fire damage/poison damage inflicted is fairly irrelavent honestly. Because it is calculated at the end of turns as well.

Indeed, tamtam has defeated me.
Early game: We both scrambled to our town centers, each claiming an equal amount.
Middle game: tamtam used orthnicopters to take my southernmost city, and I was not prepared as I totally forgot they can be built immediately with starting techs enabled. I managed to build a respectable defense around my capital, and was able to hold it for some time, but never had the strength to retaliate the South. The few troops I had were dedicated to keeping his cavalry and orthnicopters at bay. Also, my workers were getting picked off repeatedly in their attempts to strengthen my defenses.
Finally, tamtam overran me entirely:
As you can see, I have no town centers. At the end of my turn 17, tamtams point count was utterly overwhelming, as was his army in comparison to mine. The few troops I had were hidden inside my towers, but had not even the slightest chance to take back any territory.
Overall, it was a fairly embarrassing game.

My failure to build defenses against orthnicopters cost me dearly early game, and on these small maps, a lost town center is extremely difficult to recover from, especially when it is so early in the game and in a far corner of the map. It would have taken me at least 5 turns to build a counter army and travel there, which by then he would have thoroughly reinforced the entire area.
Tamtam was a good opponent, and I would say his strategy seemed aggressive but balanced, and he was obviously resourceful of the game settings, something I was not. Overall, this was a solid win for him, and I hope to meet him again on the battlefield in order to restore the dignity of the DCPR.
Good game tamtam, brackets are updated!

Puss_in_Boots, it looks like we are ready to play now, I shall pm you. Tamtam and COOLguy are also ready to start their next game.
As for Detros and Duneix, has Detros ended his 15th turn or later with less than half of Duneix's points or less?

I am currently playing turn 22 with points being 738 / 1502 at the start. I will finish figuring how to cause most harm today and report back if I manage to get above half of duneix's points after I end my round. Screenshots for summary of the fight are prepared, expect it at the beginning of the next week.
Fun thing: my last two games with tamtam were on the same map as you have used, DoomCarrot, and also I and duneix are playing there. I hope next map will be a different one.

And lol Detros, I guess it is just a popular map! Probably because it is so simple, it is rare for a map like that to be very unbalanced. Good luck staying alive for the next few turns.

This map have many John house so I can use these house to help my defence. Also,I can break the house, then put my ornithopter to this tile(opponent's ornithopter may ignore it to attack other targets first)(so I can attack opponent's ornithopter).

It is a good game.
At start,he built a barrack and an archer range. And he tried to use a light cal to get my west town but failed because the map adv.
Then,he built a Roman garrison in order to add a buff for his unit. Also,he tried to build fortress and Roman Sagittarius for defence. His action is successful.I couldn't kill his Roman Sagittarius within one hit.I couldn't get his town even I have some mounted units. However, his worker didn't get this buff so I use my mongol horsemans to exchange his workers. It is worthwhile to slow down his building(fortress) process.
Few turns later,I tried to get middle town again(with my ornithopters) but I failed once again

so I changed my target to his new South town.
After I got his South town,I use this adv to get other towns. Finally,I won.
If DoomCarrot built other structure at start(not barrack),I think I will lose.
DoomCarrot is a completely defensive player. His defense is very good.He is a good player.I don't have confidence to win him if he open a map bigger than 20x20.It will be a disaster because I don't have effective strategy against him.

Sudden death of turn 21 averted. End score: 789/1469. I have only one last TC. Duneix's wagons keep arriving with more stuff to crush on my towers. His battering ram is already burning though. I am killing more units than I am losing, point wise, but duneix's production is also much higher.

Thanks for the wish. It seems to work as I now own 2 TCs.
Ratio of units lost to units destroyed climbed from 4:5 back somewhere to 1:4 in turn 22.
End score (at the start of duneix's 23th turn): 1003/1399.
