I still prefer it have a axe, so the lancer still gets in. Unless, we want them to be mounted skirmishers?

So a light cav thats anti Cavalry
A normal cav thats anti Cavalry
And the standard footman anti Cavalry

Maybe 3 anti cav units too much?
I don't see any problem on having many units that perform the same role at time, since they all can be put with different tasks during a match, for example, one is faster, or well armored, or one does have more overall atk than the others, or have higher bonuses, or have less speed penalties on when passing some tiles (like water or montains for example), one does have skills, auras, lower or higher cost... Anyway. Their atributes makes them unique enough even if put on the same role than the others.

Well poleaxe is totally another thing compared to the jousting lances i made to undead lancers, then one does not interfere with the other's function, so no need to worry about that. And like, poleaxe isn't a weapon made to a specific role, it is 3 in 1 weapon, you can stab with the tip, slash with the blade and smash with the hammer... So it is a all around melee weapon. (and particularly my favorite)

For in game effects, i would suggest it to work based on:
-Melee axe units (1 range)
-With a thrusting active skill (with 2 range and maybe 1 or 2 turn cooldown, and if the unit is a calvary, deals double dmg bonus based on unit base dmg.)
Eg. Lets say it will do 10 base dmg without bonuses, the skill would deal 20 dmg if the unit is a calvary, otherwise, stay on 10 dmg.
-Lower bonus against buildings and infantry.

The newer stats can be made around these 3 subjects.

Alexander mentioned something about roles of units in the hobbit stabber topic.

Ah i see what he posted there, but well, i don't see anything said there that can be clearly related to roles specifically or to this post. All i had seen is he suggesting new counter bonus options (that i didn't understand how it would work clearly yet)...

But in other words and adding this post context, that can be translated as a complement from what i had said here, since specific situations might require specific units, and inside these specific units, there would be units that would perform better than others depending on the situation and player strategy. By addition of more atribute kinds. That would help to reinforce that "unique" aspect of each unit inside the same role. A simple attibute can change the whole dinamic from an unit. And with more attribute kinds, more possibilities.

Anti building cavalry sounds good since undead have rather bad siege (for now hopefully)

Sooo... They have polearms so they have bouns against bulidings? Meh. For infantry it can be kind off explained that they storm the walls/towers, but for cavarly?
Unfortunately the anti-cav is occupied by lancers. The light cav is occupied by the headless. I can't find any good purpose.

Polearm is literal swiss army knife of medieval times it can chop stab and crush (spear-axe-hammer fused in one)
Well why not if hammers and axes can easily destroy buildings why shouldnt at least partially both in one weapon?

Well that game doesn't make sense at all. Anyway, I don't think we had any anti-buliding cav... That just sounds wierd to me.

Basically:

Chicken idea = Trash Can
Raptors one = Decent/Thinkable

-AOS Comunity

===========================

Probably a new post only for raptors would be better, but i'm too lazy to make it right now...
