I choose bottom- the last left.
Simpler is better, im not much into fantasy style.

While keeping the actual sprite, i delayed the ghast trial impedence to -30% and transparency to 50%

Hoping the spear point will look much bright as it were but the trail could blent in.

ok i made the image 32px heighted (no reason for bigger on this animation as not touches over unit top boundaries. (like sword slash)
also made 3x32 with for one frame
here



but i feel it is not that nice.
also here cames to me again that i should put the animation OVER all units (now sometimes goes behind units)

Well i thought of a more pointy one as you mentioned.

I gave it a bright red color and whitish look and made the part wider but extension shorter.

I think if i made it much broader, it could actually look like a thrusting fireball, so if not satisfied i could go with a different Sprite type.

The stratagians favorite pet , our own scout dog. When i was looking at it , it was moaning at me. So made him a claw stun attack

Not only dog, but it could be useful for some of the animals in aof too. I made it 32x32 so it won't exceed the dogs size drastically.

Swirl cut through attack, probably ideal for zweihanders, katana, malice, axes, bludgeons etc

So should I drop my current axe work, it's a heavy framework. Or should I continue?
