during the first war 90% of the AA weapons were MGs but in the second war they also used machine guns as AA weapons but less often she would not be able to take down a heavy bomber as they are very tall as dive bombers and fighters could be shot down with difficulty the continuous range being 1

i have an idea....
what if we can give the infantry the possibility of a AA unit?
or a tech that can make the MG a weak (but effective) anti air unit?
but in both cases it would only be capable of attacking low altitude bombers? (like the IL or stukas?)

If I can get the cosmetic/ models MG's of every nation I could make it look like anti air units

already if it is machine guns it would be the M1 .50 machine gun for the Americans
for the Germans the MG08 (yes it is very old) or the 7.62 MG42 or MG34
for the Soviets the DShK which is the most powerful
for the British the M1919 .30
and for the Japanese the Type 98 AA
and for Italians the breda M1931
for the French the Hotchkiss machine gun model 1930

they will have the same statics as standard machine guns but will be able to fire on aircraft but will have the cost of assembling and disassembling 1 turn if they are mounted they will not be able to move already dismounted they will not be able to make an AA system and they will only be able to attack infantry

this would be great to create a light, medium, heavy defense system because in the game you already have heavy cannons like the flack 88

if infantry had to carry around a cannon it wouldnt be realistic so thats why there were anti-aircraft machine guns for infantry and they were just special versions of normal machine guns so those would work best.

Sorry to say but this is rejected... :(
We have already taken into account the machine guns shooting at low-flying aircraft. I think the fact that low-flying aircraft were actually shot down by machine guns only exists in films.
So no, they can't shoot them down and nothing else is done there.

So that light cannon stalks like flack 38 would have half the attack of a Flack 88

I pretty sure ground machine gunners and vehicle mounted guns took down aircraft
IRL because then why would they have mounted them on so tanks and jeeps
And no not for infantry because they were external and able to elevate towards the sky even though they were good at infantry as well

The fact is that even though they may not take it down they can do more than one HP point of damage so maybe like 3 or 4 damage towards the sky.
There ain't nothing like a machine gunner surrounded by planes and can't move
