Mines take a lot of killing, and it often happens at the end of games that an opponent has nothing left but mines. Am I right in thinking walls don't need to be destroyed for victory? Can we make mines the same - ie when all TCs are gone, no factories remain, no units left, lets ignore the devastating attacking potential of mine carts and call it a victory

only buildings that can not produce can be set to that imho
(and yes it is a setting on the statsheeet which unit is reuired to destroy.)

Well this is not an issue imho. Actually, with its high health and non building categorization, it could actually give a possibility to the outdriven player, to use any remaining unit(if any remaining) and get an unprotected TC from the conqueror, and less potentially take a last emergent approach. So the Stats and Cats of mine is pretty useful. And even if someone had lot of mines with no chance of returning, they will most probably surrender as i seen so far.

Aha, what an amazing strategy has revealed itself to me. From now on I will use mines as walls

Atleast you can build 3 walls on cost of a mine. Apparently they together won't even stand half the hits as mines from a siege or anti building infantry. Also one can take the perimeter with mine carts immune to fire archers and get a light cav nearby to clean the mess. So walls of mines , great idea, but is too expensive imho, the great wall of china would be much cheaper.
