So I've read about "knight bannerets". They are higher ranking knights with square shaped banners to distinguish them, leading a company of troops.
Maybe we forget the part mentioning lower speed, and make him a more expensive knight which gives some sort of buff to surrounding infantry? Maybe lower the stats alongside this and make him more of a support role.

Im thinking more in an french based heavy cavalry the buff can be 1 of power for other cavalry an more costly 7 turns

I don't see the reason for this to be French specifically... Bannerets were present in other countries such as England too.

Cost:6
HP:45
Attack power:10
Range: 1
Armour:2
P armour: 2
Speed: 5
Sight: 5
+50% ranged, melee foot, siege machine
+100% siege machine armoured
Aura: 3 tiles, maybe +1 armour?
Also I'm not convinced what colour the cloak should be. I dont think the unit needs more team colour.

+1 speed in a 3 tile aura would be far too powerful. I think some sort of small defensive buff to show increased discipline is the best option.
Nothing major as the unit itself is still similar in strength to a heavy knight, (lower armour and attacking capabilities than a cavalier to show burden of carrying the banner) but it can still be a decent support option.
Maybe even +1/1 armour?
And I still want to change the cloak to a different colour

Description: A knight banneret was a medieval knight who led a company of troops under his own banner, which was a distinctly shaped square, in contrast to the pennon flown by lower ranking knights. Their military rank was higher than that of knights who fought under another's banner, however was lower than that of an earl or duke.

New image, but idea would require a complete overhaul I think
also what should go on this dude's banner. I left it blank for now
This is better than before.
I would say a small AoS emblem lol.

we remember a very similar idea to what I had in mind, it was called banner knight, but I think this one already takes the place

I like the ideas. I'd suggest range 3 for auras (and prefer the name chivalry).
Are you thinking trainable only in Castle? I think we could do with a more royal sounding name tbh, something that sounds a bit cooler, and combines the leadership role with castle origin like Baron or Castellan.
