i think he is saying that this unit is like a melee skirmisher.

What I see here is basically a scouting unit from barracks.
If we added some kind of bonus against skirmishers and archers it could be even more interesting.
But even without it, it could be fine addition.

On the other hand original idea seems to be more focused on being medium infantry, loosing some capabilities in exchange of protection against ranged attacks. But that could be achieved by other ways.
Stratego has some plans to bring dynamically added categories.
When that happens I plan to give swordsmen some ability (maybe after research - shield over head or something) to temporarliy loose power and/or speed in exchange of no bonus from archers and some p.armor.

I think this unit have to represent a weaker but faster version of shielder.
The image you made is good (but as you mentioned, not at your actual potential) and i think it should be more like a swordsman with the worst shield of that era.

This is how i made it . A light but remarkably wide wooden shield. A lightweight cutlass like sword. No helmet. light metal chestplate.

Tell me how and where i should give team color.

thanks. In my case i made it to look as a cheap scout wearing a leather hood, team colored shirt and wielding a spear since spears are significantly easier to make than a sword.

I think Light shielder needs upgrades. Like Skirmisher, he could have Elite and Master Version.
Shield will go from Wood to Reinforced Wood and finally to iron.

This unit will be fun to use in campaigns as bandits.
Perhaps change name for this unit? I'd like it to be "Guerilla" a person who engages in irregular warfare especially as a member of an independent unit carrying out harassment and sabotage.

For my suggestion, this unit's upgrades will go near to the Swordsman unit stats as max but they will have bonuses to archers and have armor.

There is something rhat doesnt fit to me...
In spanish, skirmisher=guerrillero and guerrilla is the same as say guerrilleros (just plural) idk if didnt think about this, or u didnt know, or its just a matter of languages (maybe guerrilla is something else in english)...i would like an explanation (am i asking too much?)

Guerilla combat is partizant, hit-and-run kind of warfare in English, and a guerrila is a unit fighting that way. Also a name of a formation where soliders stand in relatively large gaps and like one colour of the tiles on a chess board - used for searching, scouting, and for a bit as a combat formation in ww1.

That is actually quite close.
This name is coming from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerrilla_warfare, while original skirmisher from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skirmisher.
As you can see in articles - it actually sounds like a bullshit, because guerilla warfare contains skirmishing as one of battle tactics.
But the essence is that:
Skirmisher - a unit using tactics of harassment, mostly with ranged attacks. Heavily dependant on terrain protection, very widely spread formations and avoiding the battle.
Guerilla - a unit using hit-and-run, ambushes - mostly with direct melee attacks and only some short ranged attacks, mainly right before going through enemy unit. Concentrated more on preserving organisation and some armor, while keeping unit as fast as possible.
