He can use telepathic abilities (the remainders of hive mind) to speak to lesser casts, and they can receive it with special gear. Thanks to that this unit can coordinate insectoids on the battlefield, increasing their combat abilities.

In addition to the legs, I redrawn their weapons as I wanted them to be different from typical human assault rifles, but that turned out. I can return it as it was.

Nice legs, I think the rifles were different enough as they were. What are they supposed to be on your image? Those gold elements at the end?
