I am returning levels out of nowhere. This happened to me twice. I was level 16 then dropped to 15 now. Then earlier months ago, I was 15 then dropped to 14. I just didn't report it.

I should be level 17 if this didn't happened.

From what I remember, it happened when I finished playing a campaign Map. I forgot exactly which one though. It says you've gained a new level but when checked it was decreased by 1.

I didn't uninstall or clear a data some kind.
It happens in-game.

please tell me the XP you gained too - eg. is it ever negative?

It is not negative when i got it.

My previous XP is something at 5500+ before it happened. (A little more to level up).
Then when my level decreased to 15, the XP left was 4800 something.

4800: is can be good! (this value can drop!)

XP value can decrease!
your xp level should not decrease!


eg:
u have 5500 XP (shown under your level number)
you need eg. 2500XP to reach the eg. 8000 limit to next level
and you get 3000 XP in a game than you will get

5500+3000 = 8500xp so it will result in:
+ 1 level
and 500XP shown under your level number

Sorry but i don't really get your point here. Since xp level should not decrease, then why did my level drop from 16 to 15?

Im pretty sure this wasn't a feature.

i mean:
if xp level shows smaller value than before -> bug
if xp amount shows less than before -> no bug (in cases)

Yes, it is the one i am saying. My level decreased. Twice.

Sorry. I know it is not a big deal since Levels doesn't do anything. Im just not really in a good mood today.

We can put this on lower priorities.

actually it is importrant, but i have no idea how to catch the problem if i can not reproduce.
and i checked the code and there is literally no "decreasing" of level ever, only "incremeting": literally like this "level++".

so it can only be if you somehow re-logged in and you have been given from server an older account datapack (with lower level)

I am logging my level as i can not remember if it was dropping for me or not, so here i will check later:

Another player, @Manzano seems to have a similar problem. It is just visible on AoS chat from about a day ago - he asks why he lost 15 levels!

I don't think he uses the forum often, but hopefully you can gain some clues if you can have a look at what happened there.

Sadly i can not look anywhere.
It would help me if we know when it happens, eg. On collecting 79 xp on a multiplayer game or something.

Before the latest update, my level was 27. Afterwards it was 18. I didn't see anything about changing levels in the update log.

I was pretty proud of my level too! I was #56 on the leader board

i had a few reports about it but i could not figure out what happens, here is a running topic.

please tell me everything that can be related, eg: you got all your gems u had? and upgrades? and map porogresses?

I think it happened on updating app.
Had 23 or 24, exited and made an update - I am pretty sure it was already 18 on opening it again after update.
I don't remember from what time was that dev version, but I have all apk files from past few months still not removed.

I lost levels for probably 3 times, but I am not sure of how those before happened.
Where there ever an intentional decrease?

Meanwhile I also lost levels having the same account loaded on Bluestacks, but that one was definitely on loading account - probably must have saved the one with decreased level on phone before.

Just to explain further - I never saved account on Bluestacks (only ever loaded) and did not load on the phone (only saved) - the latter at least a year or two, the former literally never.

no, there is not even code for decreasing.


i have only one idea: initally we made a XP init basedon completed campaign maps.
and that logic runs if account has no XP at all so it initializes it.
that were setting an initial XP level - but that (i think) can not setto that high level - or it can? does anyone remember the initial level when we introduced it ? if so is the jumpback jumps to that level?

also now my accounts, we can compare tho earlier ones:
earlier:
aos: level 9 4021/5500 (23721)
aow: level 6 2313/3600 (9113)
aof: level 7 717/4300 (11117)

now:
aos: level 10 4048/6000
aow: level 6 3509/3600
aof: level 7 3085/4300

so seems it have not jumped back (however i update my versions (DEV though) multiple times a day).

So, what happened with me was I logged in after the update. I was level 27. I played a campaign mission. It said I gained a level, then said I was level 18. I still have all my gems, unlocks, etc. I leveled up to 9 levels lower

I never logged out, I never did anything but download the update. Then plaid a campaign.

It still says I have completed all the levels that I had, but many of the levels show that I completed them in zero turns.

zero turns: that is no problem - i mean a different problem lol

Is there anything else I can tell you to help? Like I said, I was number 56 on the leaderboard and was pretty proud of that. But now I'm not even on it The only thing that changed from when I played last night was that I downloaded the new update, then played the first match of the new campaign, battleheart: jorek the ruffian

I was level 31 before this last update (2021-08-29), but after playing through the Battleheart campaign and levelling up, my level dropped to 18.

(edit: after the 18:03 UTC refresh to the leaderboards, I don't even appear anymore in the top 300 levels)

Yes. I was 27, after completing a level on that campaign, I "leveled up" to level 18

The xp points went up enough to level me up, but I went down in level.

Yeah, though I didn't pay attention to my level right after updating, so it could have been dropped already, before levelling up, but when I did level up my level went to 18.
