I think Galley does not need a redesign. It looks nice in its own way.

But the galley image you drew can be a nice alternatives skin.

Or just another ship unit.

Currently galley doesn't even depict a galley - which is a ship propelled mainly by rowing.

I don't even know what a galley is in the first place. Lol. I just like the current image, that's all. But we can replace it with this or just add rows to it's current image (For it''s upgrades - Frigate, Galleass).

I do highly agree to this.

I was just bored and the galley in game is indeed not really how it looks like irl.

The main problem about galley is naming.
When this ship was originally brought into the game it was named just Attack Ship.
What's more - according to current naming nomenclature it could never really upgrade into galeass and frigate (the last one is actually my fault - but I have just followed along).

I'd really like to use this image - it looks great.
But I'm not sure if bringing it as some other ships isn't better.

wat about dromon as roman navy?

i checked some images this matches with dromon, which was roman version of galley

actually the ship can be reanmed too - is is not necessary to call it galley.
it can be a name that fits the image.
