The BA-10 (Russian: Broneavtomobil 10) was a Soviet vehicle developed in 1938 and produced until 1941. It was the most heavily produced Soviet heavy vehicle before 1941 - totaling 3311 in three versions. These versions were the BA-10, the BA-10M (with a new radio) and the BA-10ZhD (with dual-use wheels for rail and road. The basic BA-10 was derived from the armored vehicles BA-3 and BA- 6. It was built on the chassis of the commercial truck GAZ-AAA, which was reinforced to support the extra weight of the armor and its T-26 turret with a 45mm cannon. The BA-10 was intended to be replaced in 1941 by the BA-11 with a diesel engine and a more sophisticated armor design, but the beginning of the war prevented the production of the BA-11.
