Stealth troops and traps are visible in the player's turn view. UN-IMPLEMENTED

When I watch my opponent's move before making my move, I see stealthy troops and traps enemy.

This online matches or local matches? I know this happens in local matches, however I'm not sure it happens in online matches.

Hi,

posted the same in wrong forum (AOS, not AOS WW II). So here is my question again:

Is it by design that the submarines are visible in the replay - even if they are dived all the time?

I find this is an issue, as it renders the diving almost useless, you only have to remember where you've seen your opponents sub in the replay and then can send you subs or destroyers to kill it.

Replaying in AoF multiplayer games will reveal invisible units that were moved by the player.

This is especially troubling when using e.g. Scaledfolk race, who has invisibilty on most foot kobold units they have on their group. The opponent player can simply replay the game to see where and what the invisible units are.

Yes, i have been seeing human skarns being revealed when they are moving on replay just recently.

And a friend said to me that he can see invisible kobold units being revealed when they are moved in replay. Then disappears when it is his turn.

This one seems unrelated.
@Badnorth - did it happen long before ir only started like in last few weeks?

If it's recent, then it's possible, that last change caused current issue involutarily.
If not, then it must be some unrelated problem.
Maybe with conditions if game is ended or owner.

I'm not sure. I just started seeing the invisible units on replay when i'm playing active games. So i can't really give a firm answer.

But i remember, Ai in skirmish before when i started playing AoS and AoF when using invisible units (e.g. Amazon Dart or Human Skarn), they can be seen moving when Ai is taking it's turn. The same as the replay issue in multiplayer. It might be related.

i remember which referring to: no, that was a "hotseat" problem, a different one.

now it is the multipalyer reveal problem on enemy "replay" there were fixed - that was about AOW submarine movements. i assume that fix does not work again (so u see enemy player submerged-submarine moves)

i started to check in code - i have not found anything where i would put it now (however there are several playcit could have been put)

i am a little confused,

ok move should not be visible

but
Q1: what about torpedoes, arrows shot by this unit - should that be visible? (also spells)


also
Which dev version should i post a possible fix where someone can help me test it?

Q1: no they should also be invisible unless invisibility breaks when unit attacks/uses ability.

ok, now i made that (in theory) in any action the stealth unit makes it will be only visible if it is owned by an ally.

(unfortunately - or luckily - it wil lall affect all kind of games not only multiplayer - eg. if AI has invisible units it will not shown either - as i think that was also buggy - so u saw invisible enemy ai units moving)

lets see how this goes.

any testers, in which alternative?

Tomorrow i can test in aof.
It is fine for ai invisible units to be permanently hidden as well.

i tested it in AOF with a mapdraft with AI (i assume same will happen in multplayer)

AI has 5 assassins
me having few pikes.

and i still see AI asssassing flasshing up here and there after AI moves it so i am still making changes (as i see i just ruining how hotseat games work - so maybe i make more mass than any good lol :))

That flashing up after movement is one of problems with invisible units right now.

actually worth trying the current AOF DEV version in multiplayer reply - as i see the local AI is a different logic(s).

actually i spent 3 hours on this, i modified 12 places and AI still shows movements....
and i about to give up - my whole day (time on games) is lost in this single problem and other emailings/postings... :(

but maybe the multiplayer works i have not tested.

it is already updated.

i will not update further as i messed up the whole code - i will have to rollback all my 3 hours work to get where i was.

but it would be a good info if the change already in is working, so please try.
(also i think the new map updates are also in that version)
