Leper knight IMPLEMENTED

Also unlike the other units I've noticed that there isn't really any damage bonuses for the Knights of Saint John which is kinda sad but I don't know much about their history anyways and also have a new unit suggestion, a crusader unit: "The Knight of Saint Lazarus" but yeah it's just a suggestion of mine as I'm currently making a series called "The adventures of The Lemon Lads" and one of the members named "Johnson" was supposed to be a leper knight (and I call him a leper knight as most knights of Saint Lazarus were afflicted with leprosy hence the name "Leper knights) but since there's no leper knight in the game I had to make him a knight of Saint John so yeah, I hope you add the knights of Saint Lazarus later on
i will ask Joe to join the forum and give more details if needed

If anyone volunteers to make a unit image for this knoght would be awesome!

The knight image will do since he'll be a footknight and I'll uhmm I'll see what I can do about creating the unit image for the leper knight as I uhhh, I don't have any experience with pixel art at all. But yeah I'll see what I can do, thanks :)

I think image needs to be changed.
At the very least take templar image and change crosses and shield.

Yeah I actually posted this before but it was on the wrong part of the forum 😅 sorry bout that I'm still new here, but anyways this is the sprite for the unit that I'm suggesting.
Description: A knight of the Order of Saint Lazarus, this particular knight wields a heavy double-edged longsword that he uses to slay heretics with. (Yeah I'm too lazy to write a good description as my mind got burnt out after drawing him for 2 hours)

Builders:
Can be trained in monastery

Stats:
Cost: 5
Hp: 28
Attack power: 14
Range: 1
Armor: 5
Pierce armor: 1
Speed: 3
Sight: 4
Action/turn: 1/1
Power range: 1
Heal aff: 150%
Mental resistance: 100%
Size: 1×1

Damage bonuses:
Damage against light foot melee +7
Damage against medium foot melee +5
Damage against heavy foot melee +3
Damage against archers +8

Merged.

Image is good for the first time.
Especially as it was not based directly on existing ones (I started like that).

There is only two important points:
- shadow needs to be partially transparent
I made some missing shadows in gimp and procedure is quite easy
1. Copy whole image (copy all visible layers)
2. Paste on new layer
3. Change color Chroma parameter to 0 to make it all gray
4. Use perspective tool to change it to trapeze shape with longer base on top (around 20-40% over the image border) and squeezed on around 10-20% of the image height.
5. Use gaussiann blur filter with x,y sizes set on 0.5px
6. Use layer transparency color to alpha tool to change white or slightly gray to transparent
7. Move layer on bottom.
I am sure it could be repeated in any slightly professional graphic program only names of tools are probably different, as I recall seeing similar options in Photoshop when I was using it in work.
- if this unit is meant to normally recruitable it must have team colors (even if it doesn't it's preferable)
You can create team colors by changing part of image color parameters to R:255, B:255 in 0-255 scale RGB.

Well I can't really use gimp or whatever that software is cuz I'm on mobile and will always be until I'm old enough to get a job lol
So in the end I could only put the shadow and change it's opacity to 40% and change his cape's/surcoat's Color to pink for the team colours and as for the perspective thingamajig idk how to do that or if the app I'm using (pixel studio) can even do that xd

Okay I gotta be honest with ya, I actually like your edit but not only that but I'm really impressed with the helmet design as I could never seem to get it to look as I wanted (although your edit did make him look more terrifying but hey, leper knights have always been terrifying) and hey, you might have actually just finished the unit sprite :lol:

It looks like he is flexing his legs. Probably should make the leg position more natural.

Do not be confused as he is not flexing his thick legs or anything like that xD, that's just his fighting stance

Maybe we should also add this. Holy Orders have 5 international that was appointed by the pope.

Holy Order of Sepulchre
Holy Order of Hospitaller
Holy Order of Knight Templars
Holy Order of Saint Lazarus
Holy Order of Teutonic Knights.

This Holy Order of Saint Lazarus is one of them. Just opening the topic to not forget it

It is quite easy to be added though.
I haven't thought about exact stats, but something like less offensive Gallowglass, so a hybrid of Zweihander and Knight.
There is also another question - if Lazarus Knights would bhave
any extra ability, like other orders - Heal or something maybe more unique (some debuff removal).

It really is hard to implement more Brotherhoods cause they all act the same way, and right now we have more than enough, but it is still great to have more for campaign reasons. Right now we have templars as the base unit, both offense and healing, then we got hospitallers as the more healinh oriented class while also being mostly ranged and has a halberd weilder that is for the lack of anti cav and anti heavy on the other hand we have the Teutons and crusaders who have majority of the war effort, having the most unit types. Yes the teutons does convert, which makes them different compared to the other brotherhoods and the crusaders more act as cannon fodder, being the majority of the army since they are cheaper.


What does the religious units do? Heal and convert. And we already got that from all of the religious military groups, only thing left is have the lesser known religious orders to be a mini version of the units we have today(ig?)
