The shield looks too small compared to the head, either make helmet slightly smaller or shield slightly larger, and sword looks like its protruding out of his shoulder, like he doesnt have a hand and instead fit the sword into his shoulder

How about if the sword holding image is similar to the vanguard shield knight version? As in below the horse neck

vanguard shield knight

Shield looks fine by me, although u could also use the round shield, just slightly bigger would work too

Maybe diamond shape shield is good though because that shape was commonly used by the Knight Templars that time. And I used to put sword over the neck of horse to be seen the image that it commands its army using his sword such as Centurion in Roman Faction

May b, but dont copy the design from vanguard shield knight, its more 2d-ish compared to the shield u drew, ur shield drawing is much better i think

Then it will make both bishop and komtur obsolete at the same time, but considering 8 turn cost, i dont know

templar comander's group heal could be diffent

current bishop group healing has 5 range, 3 effect range, +12hp, 1 cooldown, 85% distance (how healing decrese when being further from the effect tile)

i suggest a worse version:
range 3
effect range 1
healing rate 10
decrese by range 50%
cooldown 1

even so, divine right aura seems too powrfull for this unit, at least we make it 9 turns...

also, since templar have an upgrade, should this unit have an upgrade as well?

Leader units usually dont have upgrades, plus this is already as capable as cavalier

dont see the idea of a bowman very atractive...i mean, historically templar knights were shock troops, it could be bow sergeant, not a templar knight, so black or brown clothes, even so i think bow and crossbow crusaders fill that role pretty well...

Ow yes, i forgot that crusaders were the cheap units, swordsman, armored spearman, archer, light cav, they had all the cheap versions so do templars really need these same units as well? We could make crusaders not random in the future if necessary and also let all crusader units have stats of 3 turn units so it wouldnt b not worth the cost

are sergeants really needed if we ahve crusaders?
my answer would be yes, they have a similar role than armored spearman, but being religious tag, on the other hand sergeants are heavy infantry while crusaders infantry are all medium...

Range and heal amount can easily be modified by unit stats.
Area of effect and cooldown change needs new effect, so at least 3 new jsons in case of group heal.

Btw. With such group heal there is no reason for heal with also 10 hp healed.

If we go for alternative leader for religious faction, why not just have a divine right aura with heal and no group heal.
Or go with completely different aura, that would stack with it, but only increase defensive stats and healing.

oh thats true, i like the first option more: divine right and normal heal (no group heal)

that way is easier to implement than making a whole new aura and think about its effect

at least u have something planed... :roll:

And i like more the new defensive aura idea, heal which is better is debatable, but considering most templars already have heals so i think a single target instead of group heal is better
