So... this an infantry unit? And it puts timed explosives on an allied or enemy unit?

Yes

Ok but like... The idea that the enemy unit just stands still and gets mined doesn't seem to make much sense unless there is something that makes it possible.

An enemy unit can attack defensive lines and the minelayer can bomb it from the defense.

So they can do it from a distance?

No, I meant hand-to-hand sitting inside buildings or self-sacrifice.

How about this being only applicable on vehicles and the mines being magnetic?

I would like for the infantry, but it doesn’t matter to me what mines will be.

Or do you mean EMP mines?

I mean for the mines to be attracted to metal by magnetic force. I want like a realism standpoint explanation (I believe you though I was asking about gameplay) for how this unit could strap mines to an enemy unit without them preventing it or taking them off easily.

Could it be the attachment of mines due to a complex hooking mechanism, either with Velcro or with a clip? The enemy cannot remove the mine from himself, as it will detonate when touched or incorrectly acted upon. Also, I just now thought that the detonation would occur, in addition to several moves, also posthumously, or would the effect be transferred to the corpses?

Definetely not transfered to the corpse
