An increase in armor for insectoid vehicles. They use bioengineered chiting to create a light yet tough material that they can use to cover their vehicles in without hindering the speed. Maybe it can be locked by one of their techs for infantry physical armor. Could be cheaper or give more armor.

Im not sure what the image is meant to portray to be honestly.

Something like the Warpillar tank being manufactured, where the mechanical arms that are appearing are attaching the chitin plates to the tank, with the tank being at a vehicle repair site.

Oh I see, with a top-down perspective. Maybe make the vehicle look even more like the warpillar so people can recognise it and tell whats happening a bit easier.
