Phoenix could be a more fun hero type unit. Try this:
Permanent, incurable burning status
30 hp
7 attack, causes burning
2 actions per turn
3 armor
4 pierce armor
100% spell resist
Explode spell: massive area damage around self, but kills self
Upon death leaves Phoenix dust
With this is Phoenix dust:
Transformation 5 (transformation in 5 turns back to Phoenix)
15 health
3 armor
10 pierce armor
No movement or attack
Obviously it is vulnerable as dust until it resurrects, but as the firebird itself the Phoenix is a potent flying assault unit worth protecting when helpless.
i want to make phoenix as summonable unit with better stats:
Phoenix:
Hp - 100
Attack - 20, ranged.
Range - 4
Armor - 1/3
Actions/turn - 1
Speed - 5, Flying
Sight - 6
Abilities:
Burning weapon (passive)
Extreme heat (passive aura) - Deals at the beginning of each unit's turn 10 damage to it. applies burning effect if possible. Affects allied units and phoenix itself. Range - 1 (melee).
Phoenix rebirth - Transforms after death into egg.
Fire ball - as usual, range 3, cooldown 3.
No bonuses.
Phoeinx egg:
Hp - 15
Attack - 0
Range - 0
Armor - 3/7
Speed - 0
Sight - 3
Abilities:
Transform into phoenix 3 (passive, vanishing-like, when reaches 0 auto-transforms into Phoenix)

yes this phoenix needs special vanishing when only after it expires its egg becomes phoenix again. and just killing egg in any way will not give a phoenix.
By another unit it can be summoned. cooldown will be high.
Reduced range a bit.
And remember that it will damage itself with its aura for 10 damage each turn.
Without healing and taking any damage it can live only for 10 turns.

Because its heat is so high that it damages phoenix itself because for continuing that heat it needs strength and the longer it burns the weaker it becomes.
Ofc you can heal it to increase length of lifetime.
No its fire is so hot that it is not weak to ice - it will melt every ice even from the deepest depth of Demons dimencion because its temperature is same as Sun.
Instead he is weak to Ligthing becauseLighting must deal bonus damage to any fire-based units. (ofc after elements will be implemented).

Personally, I prefer this concept best, not OPd,
But I like the idea of the Phoenix being summoned by a different unit.
