An improvement to make the samurai catch up wit upgraded units
He might gain an extra attack (like he improved it's skill) and a better armor
What you think?

I found the image among the pack you have sent me some time ago, but is a unit armed with an halberd.
If the shogun guard concept is to be another unit the improvement i was proposing might change name in "Nodachi samurai" The nodachi is a longer katana
What you think?

+1 on the idea. Samuri are fairly useless IMO at this time.

samurai to master samurai - IMPLEMENTED

A upgrade version of a samurai
Made in barracks
6 turns to make
This upgrade will:
+3 Hp
+1 attack
+1 pierce armour
+ 1 action

Or the pierce armour and attack wont be increased if it will be too strong

samurai upgrade
Can move longer and faster , attack power increases
Special power: can utilise movement twice : eg i suggest its movement increased to 4 . Suppose it attacks an enemy 2 units away. After that it can move a further of upto 2 units to attack another enemy unit within the range.this will make it very useful

Pretty cool idea. The move twice idea can't happen yet, though.
But I like the idea of a speed increase.

Hmm why ? i mean i thought that that would make attack twice more useful. I was also thinking to increase ts bonus against some units

Just the engine isn't ready for multiple movings, Daniel said. Otherwise our light cavalry would have two 3 moves instead of one 6 move.

Samurai upgrade

I saw your as well as dark knight's version of the upgrade. Both are almost similar( main new ability added:+1 action) but it did not appeal to me at all. I mean what use are 3 attack turns if the enemy unit dies in 1-2 attacks or the samurai itself dies after attacking(if it attacks a very powerful unit say spartan or elephant etc). Instead lets make it attack twice to two different enemies(only if possible otherwise we have other ways of making this unit better). So it gets a chance to save itself. . So i think the important changes in the upgrade should be-
High speed(4-5)
Better health (+7-10)
Better attack power(+3-5)
Attack twice at two diff posn.s(if possible.if this is implemented, consider the lower limit of the other stats)
Bonus increased against many other units.(swordsman, knights, elephant, etc)

That does not mean you randomly start a new thread for the same unit. If the unit already has an idea that will work you either try to convince people why your idea might be better (remembering of course that their opinion is as valid as and was posted before yours) or start a new idea for a new unit.
Just posting like this will tie up Daniel's time trying to keep the forum uncluttered.

I definitely like the idea of a speed upgrade. Idk if that is historical or not, it just sounds cool.
