Upgrade for both chariot units to chariots with a blade on each wheel to cause damage on each side of chariot along with normal damage same specs other than the additional damage caused by the blades :?:

That's right I have a chariot but I never use it its useless when no upgrade

Chariots with blade on its wheels should do enemy 4 damage if the upgraded chariot moves next to a enemy unit

That makes no sense. It would be more sense to add a bonus to infantry.

Ahm maybe it damage to in nearby enemy when attacking like elephant??

Maybe it's just me, but it sounds like the coding could become problematic for this...the damage bonus would only apply to enemy units when the chariot is in motion--the spikes don't do damage when the chariot is stationary unless someone trips over them--and the damage wouldn't apply to oversized units like elephants--they'd just step on a chariot...it's a cool idea, but it doesn't seem practical...maybe a chariot upgrade could increase it's speed--an extra horse to draw it?

Ahm the blade in its side should be the design

Chariots should not get extra speed when they are upgraded.

An extra horse would halve the load on each horse drawing the chariot=higher top speed...but it's just an idea...

But I think ot will make the chariot to strong if it has extra speed

Yes maybe armor too because chariot is not a all wood unit its combine of metal plating

I'm saying the upgrade itself should be extra speed, rather than offensive ability...a chariot was a mode of transportation long before it was used in warfare, and the problem of writing the coding for a chariot's attack still remains...it's essentially a horse-drawn cart not an armored personnel carrier...

Ha ha ha your probably right it may be to strong, and I know nothing about the coding part, but in reality didn't they carry spear instead of sword for the longer reach of attack? Maybe make it with higher piercing armour would be a good counter to the war elephant!

Then add 1 speed to chariot and 3 hp and 1 attack for the chariot upgrade

yes, the idea of having two horses, and then much speed, is good. and some more stats/bonuses would work well too

I still believe with blades more damage same speed, drop sword use spear for a better offence or defense against the 4 legged units

Then combine the 2 ideas together. Increase speed by 1 and attack by 5 but increase only 1 hp and no armor.

My vision was mainly side damage along with initial damage up front with spear reach not for throwing just holding for all flesh (besides heavy lancer) units also if horse could be added for extra speed that would be icing on the cake :D if this is to much to ask your post above this one would be fine with me but the spear would be nice for the 4 legged units ( not including heavy lancer though )

yes, the chariot's weapon was generally a spear/lance, not a sword--swords at that time were mainly fairly dull, short bludgeoning weapons with a minimal reach...not well suited to a charioteer's use...

How about another thought on the chariots, everybody seems to like the idea of troops that do a double attack if both the chariot and archer chariot upgrades go to a double attack that would make them more relevant in the game while making there upgrade different than the other units that are similar to them. Maybe 4 turns to learn?

As is, the chariot is way to weak in attack power and it takes to much damage.. I attacked a swordsman recently with a chariot in the first 4or 5 moves in a game it almost destroyed the chariot but yet the swordsman was still standing,...a chariot should kill first blow in an attack on foot units, they was used as high speed Blitzkrieg into enemy lines not ride up and fight like a knight. Blades are nice but attack power and armour would be much better upgrade? )..mabey a 6 build time?

I actually think the "do damage to units it passes" idea is actually the most awesome and balanced concept in this topic, if it can be implemented.

All other ideas seem to point towards another knight type unit.

He needs more attack power, damage or something that's for sure my opinion ) And nothing at all like a knight!, chariots strengths is in its initial contact of foot unit after a galloping charge of a chariot at high speed?where a knight would mingle and fight. Used to breach a line and get out same way ) unless the defender has sufficient archers which should take care of this type attack? )

Hp 36 , attack 8 but basically have double strike and trample like abilities? Armor 1 melee 2 Pierce make it. 2 horses pulling 2 men? So basically gaining 10 extra hit points( same attack damage )but gets intead an extra attack and both attacks does damage like an elephants( not as much obviously ) and one extra armor point on each armor?
