I would suggest to change the name of this stat because would be clearer to new player it's function. I remember that when i started playing i was thinking that pierce armor was an "armor piercing" stat, that usually is something that ignores normal armor.

What you think about it?

We might also think about creating different damage types:
slashing: sword & axes
Piercing: spears & arrows
Blunt: maces & bullets

That would add more sense in creating different units.

We might also add different damages like siege, fire and poison

The different damage types might be could, but instead of changing the name of pierce armor/armor why not just implement a written tutorial that explains all the stats and units? I think many parts of the game would be easier to new players this way. :)

Totally agree, I've been playing awhile now and I thought armour piercing was something that got through tough skinned units like elephant or heavily armored units and still not clear on HP is this healing time?

Same, I thought it is "armor piercing", too. Took me nearly all tutorial missions to figure out why are my calculations false.

Battle of Wesnoth is using 3 physical damage types, blade/pierce/impact, and 3 magical, fire/cold/arcane.

Update of Help is in progress. Then I am going to look at unit descriptions.
