Orcs defenseless versus catapult ships ANSWERED

Very much enjoying AOF however, while playing as the Orcs when the human enemy constructs a catapult ship there's no way to defeat it unless it gets next to shore. With no long range artillery (a catapult that launches goblins?), no air power (ravens/ giant vulture?), and only a transport for a navy (fire ship nice idea btw), orcs are basically bombarded into submission.

Hi,

Daniel!!!!!!!!

The Orcs habe no Chance against Catapults.
Same as Undeads Cant break Buildings.
So i suggest wie take the suggested Bat Rider Goblin
As some Kind oF Suicide Aircraft that has a Hügel Bonus in Catapults and Ships.
We Marke the Unit not op caus it is useless against Normal Units but Makes a Burning effect at enemy Ships/Catapults and breaks Them down in 2 Turns.

Patroid

If u agree with the Idea i would open/edit the topic and make a Tile

lets see, please tell me the stats first, a 2 turn killing a castle is definitely op.
but please place here stats so we can discuss.

btw about orcs:
- catapult ship is a true proble, that needs to be solved,
- but any other building can be crushed with a few buffed 2turn cost orcs in few turns.

If the enemy has catapult or catapult ship the orc crusher will never reach any castle (if the enemy player knows how to play), moreover you still need ti bring with you orc shamans to buff them (very unlikely)

i'd like to hear other player's opinion (but i think that the merlocks gave orcs a great improvement against ships, and we can still make different kind of merlocks later)

To be honest they still suffer a lot against both catapults and catapult ships

You can ask Sunrise Samurai

I think that the javellineer and the batrider might help (I hope)

I can definitely vouch for this. Alexander isn't kidding. The game we had was dominated by rivers everywhere, so I worker spammed and researched ballistics and area damage as fast as possible. He took most of the tcs across the whole map, but I crushed anything in range rather easily with catapult ships. Orc warlords, murlocks, ettins, didn't matter. Honestly, if humans didn't have such an advantage here, his tc advantage would have won that game, but mass catapult ships made it all too easy for me.

Batrider is still melee so i fear it really won't work well against catapults.

Probably a levelled javellineer might be more effective.
