Grenades were made way before muskets. In fact the evidence may show that Persians were using grenade like items @ 400bc. Just an idea wasn't thinking he would do as much dmg as the heavy hitters just a little spread area dmg with a chance of blowing himself up.:geek:

These were not necessarily with gunpowder (ie Greek Fire). But let's find a less confusing historical name, and I am for it.

Can we rethink about this guy as gunpowder is obviously now in?
Range 3 or 4
Damage 10 points to target tlie, 5 points to 4 adjacent target tiles
Hp ?
Armor?
Speed 3
Not good with stats really open to suggestions. Maybe bonus damage to flesh and blood units.

They throw grenades(explosives) on enemies and deal splash dmg in a small area they have short range and are squishy they nede 3 turns to make and deal bonus dmg to structures and siege(also good for infantry)

I don't really know if anybody used granades up to XVI century, but I thought of something similar, which were definitely used.
Molotov's cocktails.
Well, not exactly.

In the middle east Naphtha (crude oil) was used along with various chemical igniters, often packed into vases and thrown into enemy.

Another advantage of that approach is, that AoS already has spreading flames animation (greek fire ship attack), which can be used as explosion animation.

He could burn in area, including non structures units.

That's what I meant.
Area damage + burn effect.
But I think regular burn should be used - thus no alive unit being burned.

Actually small bomb-like grenades were known in china.

But they were not that powerful and were more like a distraction.
