I think it would be a good idea to allow players the occasional opportunity to reset their upgrade tree and gain back all the gems they have spent.
The reset would allow for:

• 1.Challenge games involving only specific units
  2.allow New players with few gems to rearrange their upgrades to make discovering new units easier and allow for experimentation
  3.provide gems to recycle on bet games or map downloads
  4.pass over units you do not like or use frequently in favor of others
  5.being able to "restart" without the creation of a new account

Of course gem return would not apply to purchased consumables and would not be allowed while in any multiplayer games as it could constitute a unfair change in strategy when being able to produce units not owned at the start of games.
Any thoughts?

I love this idea! However its to late for me since I have EVERYTHING in the tech tree.

I think this would ruin the whole concept of upgarades and the "myth" which upgrade is where.

If anyone needs more gems for bet games or something, than he can aquire some from other sources.

I actually Did not think about that.........
