Sometimes it is very annoying that the hard AI can research technologies but you do want to fight against the special units.

So I'm suggesting to create a medium AI that has access to the special units but can't research technologies.

Do you mean it would be able, beside the core units, structures and techs,to use also units and structures (and spells?) from Upgrades but not techs (weapon upgrades, level ups) from there? So it can still use core techs like Writing and Flight, right?

Sounds like the old AI, that most people agreed was really easy.

Although I suppose a medium AI would probably be a good idea.
