Landscape vs portrait gameplay screen

Could there be an option in the future to switch the gameplay screen to portrait?
I play only with my tablet (4:3 screen) and I would rather hold the tablet in portrait every now and then but I can't find an option to flip the gameplay screen that way. Option screen seems to flip from landscape to portrait when turning the tablet but not the gameplay screen itself.
Would this be possible in the future perhaps? Just an option in the Settings to be able to auto switch or force the gameplay screen to certain position...
