when I was playing, I saw no archer riding on the back of an elephant

When you put down elephant archer unit on the ground that is what happens.

I found out the images for the elephant archers are actually different for AoS and AoF. The problem is the AoF eelephant archer image is too small(short).

no, the one in AOS is good - more than 32px image, better visible rider

I must ask. Why is the ai still making these? It's not even something we can make, but the ai seems to love them.

Nice. AoF archer on the elephant. Works just fine to me. Should we just enable elephants for players? It's already in the game, and no stronger than imperial knight.

It is not an AoF unit right now so we might just add it to the vote list.
Also AI shouldn't produce units that aren't for players, so that is definitely a bug.

I doubt I would vote for it. I'm just thinking it's already programmed, so it's likely easier to just give it to players than to delete it from the ai.
