For calculating damage, does armor apply before or after bonus damage?

I think is after.I use pikeman and knight as examples.
Pikeman(original atk is 4) have 450% bonus against knight(have armor 2).Final hit point is (original atk=4)+(original atk=4)×(bonus=4.5)-(armor=2)
The result is:4+4×4.5-2=20
Knight will lost 20 hp.

But skill of maori warrior (throw taiaha) is not affected by this rule.Every throw ignore the defence(fixed to 6).

Probably because thats counted as a spell
