I have one suggestion:
Add in online map sharing center, more easier way of sharing maps.
Something similar to the Ancient Empires Reloaded in multiplayer variant.
So you can just upload your map there and if it is uploaded than everyone can download it and create a multiplayer game with it. Also if you join in it is auto downloading map for you.
And maybe add another currency for maps – can't be traded, can be got by watching and some ingame variants (needs discussion how), 1 currency allows to upload 1 map. Also please no ways of getting them via gems.
Add some sort of rating for maps: 1-5 rating.
Add search system - based on rating/downloads/made by specific author/recently uploaded/single- or multiplayer...

We have achievment "coded" already, we only need fellow volunteers to define more.

Here is a suggestion.
-Terain Effect on stats -
Currently we have one Effect :move /speed. One can pass a tile others don't
So what I mean?
The terrain effects - should be enabled as map settings.
Expl. snow terain generally affects all units
applies "freezing cold "-foot unit and wagon get - 1speed, decrease their attack.
(a saracen horseman don't feels well in snow.right)
Forest decrease sigh - : etc
Also adding some fantasy terain tipe what boost production and hp for all unit (depends on race)
Expl. Burial mounds - +5hp +1 production speed. to undead units.
And full map effects like "famine" - decrease: products speed, units hp, pop limit.

Actually i want to see 4 additional slots for ai only.
And another ideas:
1. Emily - neutral friendly white ai. Similar to John but is friendly to all players, units owned by this one can't be attacked by players and can apply healing and buffs to player owned units.
2. Michael - neutral hostile defencive brown ai. Similar to John but enemy to all players, units owned by this one are trying to defend their places, can recruit units in owned buildings from all races (but only basic ones, can't reqruit gem units), can't recruit workers and build something.
Both can be placed on random maps.

I wanted 4 in also but I didn't want people to start disagreeing because its to much BUT since you make a good point I want 4 also

Making them spawn randomly could b difficult, may b tc like structure called bandit encampments spawn randomly at beginning of game, otherwise it will depend on map creator where he places ai units

this one is implemented:
[IMPLEMENTED]Maptiles modifies stats of units (power, sight, production speed, worker mendrate and so on)
in AOW there is a sample set if infantry goes on hills it gets extra defense values and extra sight.
configurable in consts.json.
