I think the current pikeman in game should be rename to spearman.

Yup, I am also thinking it to be lile a "pike wall" were units have a chance of getting trough the pike and hit or fail amd recieve damage.

Maybe just higher normal armour. Melee units will have rough times. Units like zweihandler should have bonus against the pike wall.

Theres were I am going, wonce the ability is activated the pikeman cannot change the direction he is looking at so by himself would be pretty useless, thats why this is a more formation unit

Or the unit can only do the pike wall ability when other pikeman is adjacent to it.

Mmmmmm, idk, logically it should be able to do it by himself even outside formation, also I thunk it would be harder to code.

Some advancements on the ability:

Lays down the pike able to hit units from 2 tiles away.
cannot change his direction.
Has a bonus in formation(5 pikemen:+1 attack 7:+2 10:+3).

Once the ability is used it can only move 1 tile in the direction hes looking at

That's hard to make. It's possible to make it only able to use the ability when there is other pikeman adjacent to it.

Sounds good, Canyou or somebody else help me with the other sprites?(looking downwards and upwards)
