On smithing and stealing

Talking about smithing with @Stratego (dev) we agreed on 4 levels that can be stolen among Humans, Dwarves and Humans

The levels are basically

1) Iron
2) Steel
3) Mithril
4) Adamantium

Dwarves will have the chance to research all 4 levels

Elves will research 3 levels and can steal the 4th

Humans will research 2 levels and can steal 3d and maybe 4th

Of course that will leave out ranged (elves are going to have the higest level so we might consider adding another level that can be stolen by humans)

Orcs, undeads and scalefolk are monstruos races so they won't be able to steal those techs (orcs have low tech and scalefolk should be even lower and more based on their natural techs while undeads don't work metal but simply use the armors they had when they were alive)

This will require some existing techs to be edited tough.

Sounds interesting, stealing techs for other races...

I support this. It would unify the upgrade system, and exclude races that can't be stolen from. I assume this would mean the cavalry/infantry difference in human armor techs would be removed.

For ranged: divide by bow upgrades (elves) and arrow upgrades (humans and dwarves)
Bow upgrades give +1 power and +1 range, while arrow upgrades give +2 or even +3 power, but no range. 3 levels of each.

That would make +12 damage to every arrow. This is definitely too much

Also ranged damage is always meant to be lower of melee damage (otherwise there would be no need for melee units)
