Damage to Tanks

Rather than having a health bar above tanks which is reduced by a little or a lot with each hit depending on the firepower of the gun hitting the tank and the tanks armour, it might be more accurate and fun to have a varying chance of instant destruction with each hit.

For example, if a light tank is hit by a heavy gun, the chance of the tank's instant destruction might be 80%, 90%, or 100%.
if a heavy tank is hit by a light gun, the chance of the tank's instant destruction might be 0% or 10% (should probably be 0%).
if a medium tank is hit by a medium gun, the chance of the tank's instant destruction might be 20%,30%, or 40%. etc etc
Many light weapons like machine guns or even light artillery alway have 0%

failing instant destruction, there could be a secondanry chance of immobilisation (or maybe some other damage effects) where the tank speed is reduced to 0 (or maybe 1 or 2 for light damage)...this might give a light tank a slight chance to have some effect on a heavy tank

For example,if a heavy tank is hit by a light gun, the chance of the tank's immobilisation might be 5% or 10%

Otherwise, hits have no effect on tanks. This introduces a bigger element of luck, but also a bigger element of realism and a bigger chance of something suprising and unpredictable happenind, making for a more exciting gaming experience,

Quite hard programming also we are rather against luck based gameplay.

Fair point about the programming.

Point taken about luck. Though if game length is at all significant, it should usually even out and work out to be reasonably fair.
