Age of Strategy Forums

Gnomes are technologically more crazy and advanced than dwarves but before war they lived separately. In war they are mobilized as well now.

What they will have:
1. Golems (mechanical ones).
2. Air units; both zeppelins are moved here from main body of dwarven race.
3. Siege (superior to dwarven one).
4. Naval (superior to dwarven one).
5. Some land-moving fortified self defending moving fortress.
6. Support casters who can heal mechanical units, support your buildings and curse enemy ones.

Procs (+):
Mechanical units all are unaffected by many enemy spells;
Air units & air transport;
Superior siege units (even better in terms of damage than trebushet with higher speed and health but also with lower range);
Unique casters who can heal mechanical units and buildings, support them or instead debuff enemy buildings;

Cons (--):
All units are costly (4+ turns cost all);
Needs to be researched first;
Need separate buildings;
All units are producable only in factories/mega buildings;
All units are unaffected at all by dwarven blacksmith upgrades and they have their own line of upgrades (alas some of units are affected by gunpowder upgrades);
Mechanical units are unaffected by runes and support spells as well;
Many mechanical units are vurable to siege killers;
Some of their land units can't be transported via their zeppelin carrier.

Not the best but can be edited to look better

Ugh. I don't like look of this "gnome". And also they won't have any "basic fighter" units because otherwise their stats would be worse than goblin pikers (basic one) and without upgrades.

Same is for worker.

And last thing i don't like look of them as garden gnomes with big hats. It will just look weird that garden gnomes (which are at most of size of cat) will fight with orcs.

Umm no
One of the biggest things for gnomes ARE they're hats, that's how you can tell a gnome off first hand.
And 2 they DO fight and are pretty good at it.

Please don't call them gnomes if your gonna have a different concept that doesn't fit gnomes

Gnomes:

In normal fantasy lores gnomes NEVER have those stupid hats.
They look somewhat between dwarves and humans but with lesser height than dwarves. As you can see on the images i posted above.

Golems are golems
Gnomes are gnomes

They need that hat unless you wanna see even smaller ppl ( smaller than dwarves ) on the battlefield which would look too weird

I don't want to see normal gnomes as fighters in the first place.
They are inventors, tinkers but not fighters.

They can backpacks with some crazy things but please no those stupid childish hats.

I don't really like the idea of them not having them.
Without hats now your looking a super midget People on the battlefield.
The hats atleast it will compensate for their height
Especially the way the art design is made in Aof

Actually I've seen them with simple caps, they were ruffly the size of dwarves but with shorter, or no beards. Dwarves grow beards as children. So let's just stick with simple caps, like the peasant style.
