Basically, you can make a unit squat leader of a few units, so it functions as a walking waypoint

You should be able to selext what units to follow him

You make him squat leader of some units, it is what I said

How should it look like?

The blue flag of way point will point on top of squad leader's head whenever u click the unit that follows him, squad leader can b anyone, just select way point on top of him

This is very necessary thing, otherwise it is uncomfortable.

then we go back to the idea of making a "commander" type units that buffs others

this is a ui feature, any unit can b selected as way point that others will follow, if u want aura buffing commanders post them in appropriate section

although with commanders like banner bearer, drum beater, centurion and daimyo i dont want anymore aura buffing commanders in game (except map editor unit)
