Arrow blocking

The idea is simple, but the code could be hard.

My idea is that, for more strategic planning in games.
The new unit, shielders and also walls could be used to block the unit directly behind them from arrow fire from the opposite direction. This would allow a new strategy for the game, and make the cost of attacking a walled structure higher and more realistic.

For instance, there would be a bigger advantage to build walls around your land, and placing shielders in front of your armies.

Walls are a bit underpowered atm I think, so this would make it better

Shielders would have to cost more turns.

Thanks for reading.

Sounds good.

This could make the game a bit more realistic. I think the square behind them could be their protected place.

There is only one problem I know (I know nothing about coding, only a vit about the Ai) what happens, if it can't decide which is the ,,covered,, square?

It would be awesome to have something like this, but i think it could be hard, since how does the wall know which side to protect? If i shot an arrow from side a, i cant reach side b, but if i shoot it from side b, i shouldn't be able to reach side c either. What im trying to say is that the wall would need to protect all 4 sides

Yes, because since the range of archer is 5, the arrows can be shot from an angle. Maybe the wall and shielder have an "aura" of arrow protection?

Why not make a wall to discrease the archers range if the archer is trying to shoot ober the wall. Maybe a range penalty of 2?

Sounds like a coding nightmare...
