I think speed 6 with range 5, and attack 7 will do (does not benefit from blacksmith techs, and will ultimately become weaker than normal horse archer with all research complete.)

No that's a good thing because it will be used instead of horse archer unless the player researchs the techs necessary to make a better horse archer.
