Seaplanes IMPLEMENTED

I felt like drawing a seaplane, and I think it turned out beautiful for 64x128 pixel standards.
I also found a way to draw the USAF star on planes, I think it looks good, you can download and use it on other planes.
For this plane, I believe they should be built and landed on shipyards as well as airfields because they can land on water if they have to. Also should have heavy bonus against ships, it is a torpedo plane afterall.

Okay I have time until Saturday, once I get this done it's SW, and then the strings for AoG.
I will post real world information soon for you to put through .xls

PBY Catalina
Weight: 9,485 kg
Max speed: 288km/h
Flight range: 4,095 km
Armament: 4 12.7mm turrets + 1 7.62mm turret
Bomb load: 4,000lb X 1kg/2.2lb = 1,818kg
Production:1940-1943

Just realized bv222 was a transport plane, whoops. Here is war version:
BV-238
Weight: 54,700 kg
Max speed: 446 km/h
Flight range: 7,200
Armament: 2x 20mm autocannons, 20x 13mm mg.
Bomb load: approx: 4,000kg
Production: X
first flight: 1944, so late war era?

Made them producable and carryable in shipyards since most seaplanes landed on water, but not back on earth. I didn't know what to set for bonuses, but I changed them. If the xls doesn't turn out results that would do much damage, please increase them.

Hi Guys! We have a little issue with these planes regarding what they are supposed to do. First of all good idea to add these planes in @pussinboots. The PBY and MBR-2 were not used directly as bombers but multi-operational planes. For instance the PBY conducted rescue missions for downed pilots in the pacific ocean, laid mines, even fired torpedoes and dropped depth charges. But on the rare occasion did they actually drop bombs on ships. So what am I saying? I think that the damage and bonuses on ships should be lowered and that the two planes mentioned above be given torpedoes and mine ability's along with the ability to see submarines. For the German super plane I am a bit irritated at it because it has soooo much health and damage which is just scandalous! It also classifies for our prototype selection of units. Whatever the case it should have reduced damage (like 30-39 range) and have mine laying ability's IMHO.

Well, he's not wrong, as for Germany I couldn't find a balanced real world seaplane that wasn't for transport/travel purposes only, so the op plane behind a lot of techs and cost 9. The reason I didn't want to give them torpedo skill is because it'd be more difficult to add an efficient damage scale against ships. They'd all do submarine damage to ships which is not enough to down battleships.

Okay great! But the problem still remains; these planes are not specific to the ocean enough. The German plane is overpowered. I mean the German plane can destroy just about everything, planes, tanks, ships, buildings, you name it and it can destroy it with ease. Its health is also way to great as well (I believe is is as much as a destroyer.) Whatever the case all seaplanes should have some sort of naval application besides just bonuses on ships because if we don't, the planes will be used for ground operations primarily. So lets fix the German super plane. Since the German super plane can carry aporximently 15k worth of bombs it should have 45 power. How did I come to this conclusion? Well if you look at the empty weight of the plane and look at its maximum take off weight you get a good indicator of how much it can carry. Coming to 15k, we then look at the B17 which can carry 2k worth of bombs at a power of 33. Then we do some math to equalize the proportion of 2k : 33 power = 15k : 45 power. Now for the PBY can carry less then 1k worth of bombs so it is relatively weak. I do not know its stats but I do not think it is in agreement with this assumption. That's why we need torpedoes and mines for seaplanes so that we can level the playing field.

bomb weights: whey are from real values and yes, attack is calculated from that.
torpedoes? did these got torpedoes? if so we can give them.
german seaplane: yes, all values again from its real values (see in xls) it was a mega fortress of the air - it was also nicknames something similar, but i am open to suggestions of change - but please give suggested values - thanks!

I think we should calculate power stats based on machineguns, and then make bonuses out of the bombweight, because that amount of damage is too much for fighters.

sure, the exact same thing is in xls, please check (i always feel it is only me looking into xls lol
now the normal power value is based on the machinegun caliber+count, and a calculated cell tells me how much bonus to set to reach the "bonb weight" determined bombarding bonus.

Alright, I've got it now. To make seaplanes, especially BV238, unusable for land only operations, we need to restrict them to shipyards only, because they definitely can't get off a runway without wheels. But that's just a hotfix, when we find a way to make them as accurate to their irl use as possible as Belfry suggests. Then we can return them to normal, so you won't have to use a shipyard unless you really need one to counter ships.

restrict shipyards only - to be built?
